Default Pass of Thermopylae and the infamous...

...pass betrayed by Ephialtes would be a nice battle map to have on either custom or campaign mode. This should be a correct presentation of the pass and not a green slope labelled "Thermopylae" which doesn't have any passes and is miles from the shoreline

I'd rather CA focuses on the grand campaign mechanics than small easter eggs like this.

Well, a strategic pass that forced all armies and generals who ever campaigned throughout greece to practically revolve their strategy all the way to WW2 is hardly an 'easter egg'. There have been more Battles of Thermopylae than just the famous one of Xerxes invasion.

    This...

I also want the Battle map and Campaign map to be better linked this time. I want it to truely make a difference where you decide to march your army. It kinda feels too random for me as it is.

better maps in general would be a nice thing to have

You could make a Thermopylae map in the editor in all of the Total War games.

Forget it. CA has other things to worry about. I particularly want an emphasis on the campaign map and a bugless, clean release.

Can't see why this wouldn't be a historical battle, or perhaps part of a Persian Wars DLC / Expansion.

I'm sure things like this would be included in Historical battle. They seemed to have a bigger emphasis on historical battles in SHOGUN 2. I expect this one to have many nice ones.

There have been a number of battles at Thermopylae since the famous one, including a few in the time period. And even if there hadn't been, the actual terrain there didn't fall into the sea after 480 BC so there's no reason a battle there during the Rome period shouldn't look like it did during the Persian wars.

That said, CA should concentrate on making the battle maps match the terrain more generally, rather than making an exact replica of one particular famous battle field.

A 100 years? Now wasn't it grand? Built your world of nothing. How long did it stand?
What did you think would happen? When did you think it would all fall down?
Domain of dust in a land of sand. Did yourself right, so let's feel grand.

Not really. It was the site where the Aetolians halted the Galatian invasion of Greece and where Antiochus III expeditionary force was defeated by the Romans.

If they include more Easter eggs, I want to see the Judean People's Front and the People's Front of Judea as possible rebel armies.

As long as they don't have the damned Popular Front of Judea in.

And how would a battle of Thermopylae be fun to play?
