Ok, dont ask me how but I've somehow managed to get by for the last year or so without updating my video card driver, but I'm sick of this and need it fixed. I've searched online and found and tried a few things but nothing seems to work.
Heres the deal. I have a GeForce FX 5600 256mb card, when I try to install the latest Nvidia drivers I get "The software you are installing has not passed windows logo testing". Sure enough I check my card/driver info and it has NO digital signal. Nvidia's site says my card is supported but I'm beginning to wonder. :hmmm:
During the install process (of the new drivers) it says I can continue on with the installation anyway so I do. Then ALL my games have this "static" look to them, like static on a television almost, and things all around just seem goofy. So I end up rolling my driver back, which is fine for older games.
So does anyone have any ideas on how to correct this? I'm at the end of my rope here. My card is still a decent one, so i refuse to just give up and buy a new one. Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated here hehe.
My DirectX is current as well, which is strange to me because this acts and looks just like a directx video problem.
Thanks,
Drexxus Maximus
Btw I have a HP pavilion a450n 3.2 ghz w/ 1 gig ram.
