Game is just a black screen, sounds works though
Whenever I run Stainless Steel I just get a black screen. The mouse cursor is visible and there is sound. I can hear that I'm able to click menus, so there is just something wrong visually. Medieval 2 itself and Kingdoms do not have this problem. Any ideas on how to fix this? I did a few fresh reinstalls but that doesn''t help.

Please disable your UAC, then re-install 6.3, then 6.4, find SS Set Up in MTW2/Mods/6.3, select, Right Click and Run as Admin

I did all of that in that order, not really disabling UAC but doing the third option from this thread. http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?p=8287059
Which should effectively be the same right? Didn't fix it though. Never had any problems before playing SS on my computer, although I did install 64 bit Windows recently, don't know if that changes anything.

Does your Windows Screen resolution match MTW2?
