Stainless Steel used to work fine, stopped playing for a while though, and in that time I added more mods to the Medieval 2 mod folder.
Now its slow and laggy, especially when I zoom in on the hand-to-hand combat action. I have my settings on the lowest graphic settings. Even the campaign map stutters a little. This got me disappointed because it was never like this before. Even with smaller battles the lag makes playing unpleasant. The game freezed three times after playing through the same siege battle with quite a lot of men involved (before however, this never happened, my computer could handle this scale of battle fine).
I realise this is a hugely ambiguous question, as it could be anything that is making the game slower, but what could you suggest? I find this both strange and frusturating as SS worked fine before. Is it the extra mods in the mod folder? Or a problem with the disc (I hope not)- would a scratch or dirt cause this?
Any ideas/solutions? Or is it a simple matter that I have too much clutter on my computer.
