As mentioned in countless other threads, there are too many modern political controversies that get tied to events that took place hundreds of years ago. Although it would be acceptable for the Koreans to make a movie or game about the subject and depict the Japanese in any light they wish, the Japanese on the other hand can't touch the subject, not even for a domestic audience. And since Sega the company that owns the company that makes Total War is Japanese,... well...
Also, and maybe equally as important, the TW team has moved on to Rome, you wont be seeing anything new for S2TW, save for maybe a minor patch.

So let's hope that at some point the modding community can get some decent tools.

And Civ V was developed by Firaxis, which is based in the United States. I think the key point here, and the one that Rekishiotaku was making, is that Sega is a Japanese company.

The only way I can see to circumvent this issue is just base the campaign in 1400s with the rise of Ming, rise of Choseon, rise of Ashikaga, both happening in this era. Sure its not famous as admiral Yi and Kato Kiyomasa battling it out but hey, at least we get King Sejong.

Rise of the Ashikaga was 1300s. Haven't you played the Taiheiki Campaign Erwin!?

As I said the major factor here is two parts, the political issue, and the fact that Rome is coming out which means S2TW is no longer going to see any expansions or DLC, well, maybe they will release some piece of armor that is already on the disk for 3 dollars.

I say if we get a decent modding community we go full controversy and make the Yamato invasions of Korea. "Rise of the Eastern Barbarians."

I would want this but this won't happen. The answer is... politics ----> China and Korea versus Japan + bloodpack + the occupation of China and Korea in the WW2 + the recent struggle to control Isles of Tsushima and Senkaku. I actually think that WW3 is more likely to happen than Imjin war DLC

It's either the initial assault on Bushan in May of 1592 or the fall of Jinju in the summer of 1593 . the walls look more like Jenju though, but it's hard to be sure.

You cant mod the campaign map, if i understood it right.

Also i wanna add that maybe, a Korean war just isn't profitable enough to sell? i mean the DLC for rise of the samurai was hastily done and boring, i doubt it sold as much as FOTS. So maybe SEGA just don't think a DLC on the Korean war is profitable enough.

coz you need mocaps or animations showing them not doing kenjutsu, sojutsu or whatever, then korean/chinese audio unless some of you think the Shameful display can pass off for any East Asian. No. its not.

Even for FOTS, they lacked the time and budget for a bayonet mocap. How much more for Imjin Which has..............flail cavalry. F....cavalry ( Masang pyeon gon (Hangul: 마상편곤, Hanja: 馬上鞭棍) )....oh and korean fortifications.

It has no Joseon Dynasty that will rival your Ashikaga and its Kinkaku-ji.
