A Bizarre Series of Events in MP...

Ok, this sequence of events leaves me completely bewildered. I will attempt to recreate what I remember as best I can so that it is easier to shed light on what happened.

Firstly, I, a rank 8 silver (details) entered a matchmade battle of medium funds against a bronze avatar rank 4-5 (didn't check). (A member of the "friday noobs" clan, this I remember because it was, in fact, Friday.)

I won this battle decisively. I know that because I got the battle conclusion. I did so with a long sustained cavalry skirmish (my setup was 2 yari cavalry, 1 katana cavalry, 1 bow cavalry, 2 yari ashigaru, 1 naginata samurai, 2 no-dachi samurai, 1 bow samurai, 1 matchlock ashigaru, and my leadership general).

The battle ended prematurely in the final charge, but I did receive the notification that I had won a decisive victory, and the battle ended. This occured at the instant his/her army began collapsing, so I assumed that he/she had had quit. I noted to myself that I thought it was honorable to quit via the escape menu rather than by plug-pulling.

I was then taken to the post-battle screen (where a victorious general puffs his chest out and a defeated general kneels with his head bowed). I was toying with the idea of saving the replay for its heartwarming effects (I was having a rough day on matchmade; I had started at rank 1921 in the 1v1 ladder and fell to over 4000.)

THIS IS WHEN the BIZARRE and UNEXPLAINABLE begins! I was taken DIRECTLY and without WARNING from this screen to the loading screen for another battle. My opponent was set to be Egyptian Mao. Now at the conclusion of the load, I was dropped into a new battle set in FLOOD PLAINS with what seemed to be a completely RANDOM army.

The build I was given command of was: 1 Leadership Avatar, 1 Bow Avatar, 2 katana cavalry, 1 katana cavalry hero, 1 Seigan's Swords Hero, 3 yari ashigaru, 1 yari samurai, 1 matchlock ashigaru, 2 foot samurai, and 1 matchlock monk. The build my opponent commanded was similarly nonsensical: 1 avatar of unknown type, 1 bow cavalry, 1 rank 5 mounted gunner, 1 Seigan's Swords Hero, and a mix of Warrior Nuns and yari ashigaru, and at least one naginata attendant. As an aside, the leadership gen appeared to be identical to mine; he even brought the retainers I had used in the previous match and was named Lord Otori Shigeru.

The enemy infantry far outnumbered mine (he seemed to have no ranged footmen, just the cav). I deployed my yari's in a line about 4 deep with the yari sam to the right. The sword hero was far behind the front line with the TWO DIFFERENT AVATARS. The matchlocks were spread as thin as possible in front of the ashi's line. The entire cavalry force was hidden in the forest in the center of flood plains. My opponent sent his naginata attendants to a dojo to my left. I countered with the bow avatar, for whom I saw no better use than denying my opponent a dojo. My opponent skirmished with the missilie cav, but was ambushed by my katana cavalry. Once they showed themselves he/she charged. My matchlocks caused some casualties (my opponent's Seigan's Swords were my first target. Then the matchlocks retreated to fire opportunistically. The enemy charge impacted my ashi spear wall, and the leadership gen kept it in place. My Sword Hero advanced to support the main line, and the cavalry disengaged from their fight to attack the rear of my opponent's force. At this point, the enemy line began to fall apart, and the battle ended abruptly (I assume he/she pulled the plug).

During the battle I had taken screenshots to document this weird phenomona. After the battle, I was taken to the MAIN MENU not AVATAR CONQUEST. When I quit, the screenshots were gone.

HERE'S the kicker: I don't own the saints and heroes dlc! How did I command the heroes I had then, how did I even get into that battle, and what happened? Can anyone help? I have no clue ....

I have also sent a friend request to Egyptian Mau in the hopes that he/she can tell me the circumstances of this escapade...

Any clarification as to how I could have entered this battle, found myself in command of the hero units, or had two avatars in the same army wold be much appreciated. My sense of reality is slipping away...

There are some funny things going on with it.

I've gone from one match directly to another match with nothing in between and I've somehow topped up in a battlelist match from the avatar match I'd just completed.

Another problem is with campaign drop in, it seems to ignore no fots avatar on many occasions, you'll sit there for 308 seconds odd, finish the countdown only for a desync and a draw to be declared. Upon checking you'll see a complete fots army even though no fots avatars was ticked and you don't have fots installed.

don't worry man you're not the only one experiencing instant battles w/o clicking match making.

I believe that there is a bug wherein match making forgets that it has already found a battle after you click it and thus puts you in the MM queue even though you are inside a game.

Happened to me many times and sometimes shocks me so I had to talk out to my opponent to wait a bit since I was in queue for a battle even though I didn't click the matchmake.

edit: oh yeah there was this bug a long time ago when I overspent my army because i was alt-tabbed. My army was randomly generated (it was a fots avatar btw and fots army) I had two gun gens LMAO ) though the other gen was just generic.
