Help with new graphics card

Hi i am looking to update my pc as it is very old im lookin for more ram and a new graphics card. Can you guys tell me how much ram and how good a graphics card i need to play a game like rome total war at its full thnks.

I'd go with a minimum of 1 GB of RAM for starters. Now for graphics cards you have a lot of options, what is your price range?

totaldave, fatsheeps right, you've got tons of options, and a price range anywhere from $275.00 to $575.00, so it's really a matter of how maxed out do you want to play RTW?

Thanks for the replies i'm looking to pay around 200$ on a graphic card and im lookin to play RTW with a lot of men on screen at once.

Ok do you have an AGP or a PCI-e slot on your mainboard?

$200 dollar range is probably a GeForce 7600GT range, or maybe na X800 GTO, the X800GTO is particulary good because if you run the X850XT BIOS it unlocks 4 more pipelines, making it a 16 pipeline card, pretty good for $200. It also has 256MB GDDR3 memory, running at 400MHz, pretty good. But its PCIe, so if you have an AGP motherboard, then I suggest an upgrade to PCIe.

I have a AMD Athlon XP 1500+ processor will this affect RTW in any way or would this need upgraded.

Wow! How old is that?

Looks like your system is ancient. You will need to buy a new processor, preferably something above a 4000+
