    Default New pc, recommendations?

Hi there my fellow TWC members,

I am trying to build my first computer by myself but I am a complete dummy if it comes to computer internal knowledge, so I am trying to guide and teach myself a bit before I really start.

My goal is to play Shogun on full (easily) on a 1080p screen.

So I was searching the web and came to this (even though I have only a small idea of what I am doing)

motherboard: 970 Extreme3 ASRock motherboard , FX-8120 Processor and 8GB, two PCIe x16 2.0 (with CrossFireX support) SATA locks.
graphics card: XFX HD6870 Dual Fan (HD-687A-ZDFC)
    hdd: Seagate ST9750420AS
    case :Cooler Master HAF 922
    electricity: OCZ Fatal1ty 750W
    optical driver: LiteOn IHAS124

It is a total of 880,49 euro.

Wat do I need to change to get it better?

I personally wouldn't go for a bulldozer build if it's for playing Total War. And I suggest reading the nice pc recommendation thread Crazyeyes wrote: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=560054

Make an account here and you can educate yourself if it lets you, I'm not sure though. This is the program we use in my IT class at Highschool.

Skip out on the FX processor. Not worth your money at this point.

Fill this chart out and we can give you a hand:

I would go with something like an ASRock Z77 Fatal1ty performance and an Intel 2500k or 2600k for the mobo and cpu.

If you want to save some money, you might want to look at a Z68 mobo, which has many of the features of a Z77, but now they are at a much lower price:

I have the OCZ 750 Fat PSU - great PSU and never have a problem with it after half a year of hard use.

    Good Luck with your build!

I'd go for Ivy Bridge over Sandy Bridge, pretty soon SB will be two generations behind. At that price, it's just not worth it. Nab a 3570k.
