    Default Tamriel: Total War <<Revived!>>



    Note: I know there already is a topic about this Mod idea, but the creator has become inactive, making it impossible to moderate the first page properly, and most of the content which had been uploaded in the old Thread is gone anways.


    This is meant to revive the current Tamirel:TW Mod, which appears to be on hold. The first order of business would be to collect any files from the old team which are still available.
    I have talked to a few member sof the old team already and it appears like most of the stuff is gone though, meaning we will have to start... well, from the start.

    And by we I mostly mean me, right now.

    If you are interested to help or have any of the old files, please PM me.


    What I have done so far is creating a working map of Tamriel, some menu changes, loading images and music, all put together in a mod folder. Not too much, as you can see.



    Basically I will be looking for

    - Another Mapper
    - 2D Artists and Modellers
    - One or two Scripters who know their way around, or are willing to learn.

    As I said, it is major WIP right now since I didn't get any of the old files. I wanted to wait with previews, but here we go for starters.

    There's also a Soundtrack planned, some custom music is already fit in... but yeah if I stay alone the map will consume the coming weeks I suppose.


    For a rough concept, I was thinking about the Oblivion Crisis as a first Campaign. Similar to "The Sundering: Rise of the Witch King"-Mod Daedra hordes shall spawn through Oblivion gates, and the Provinces of the Empire might just use the chaos to try and fight for independence again...

    It wasn't me mate, I always leave a '- LV' behind my rep.

    Anyways I didn't find it rude, I think it's fine to see whether a project has potential before you spend 10+ hours to work for it, especially after the last one did go down the toilet and most of the content got lost.

    Yes! Just saw this. Unfortunately real life prevents me from actually learning how to do all this modding stuff, but I'm really glad you're doing this LV. I'd say one thing though: it might be a bit easier to set the campaign after the oblivion crisis with the rise of Thalmor and Titus Mede's rise to power as the last team had it. It's probably a bit easier to do then spawning deadra all over. The oblivion crisis could be a submod or alternate campaign. I'm just saying this because it may mean a faster first release which will be helpful in getting this mod out of this sub-forum and into the major leagues. What I mean is that there should be less factions: Thalmor instead of two Elven races, Morrowind taken over by argonians and Vvardenfell a no man's land. I could be completely wrong though and the oblivion crisis may be easier to do, this is just my two cents. +rep btw I wish you the best of luck

    Why not set the mod in the end of the second era, when Tiber Septim conquered all of Tamriel? Most of the factions were divided, so it is a good setting for Total War! You have the Colovian divided in warring City-States, Nibenay is more unified but very weak, Hammerfell is divided between The Crowns and the Forebears, The Tribunal banned colonisation on Vvardenfell, so the ashlander would be in a better shape than in the third era. It has a great potential for very uniques factions and setting. I had a plan to create a mod set in the Second Era, but I just don't have enough experience in modding. But I can help you with what I gained in knowledge

    I see, there are many possibilities.


    There are news:

    1.) My Internet is still crappy and unstable. And it will stay like this for another three weeks. Meh.

    2.) In correspondence with some other Modders, I have decided to start this out smaller to (maybe) get a Team and enough Know-How to do a big thing! This lead to me working on a smaller map, which features only Skyrim!

    3.) I have completed that map! If possible, I'll post Screenshots of it here.

    Imperial Legion has Solitude, with Whiterun, Markarth, and Falkreath allied? I don't know how that would work. Imperial Legion could earn more troops by earning victory over stormcloaks maybe? Forsworn at war with Markarth. Stormcloaks have eastern Skyrim. Perhaps include a bit of Morrowind with Argonian An-Xileel troops in a border town and Bruma in Cyrodil.

    Great! I would rather see a detailed skyrim map first with a beta release of it, and then thinking big.

    As far as the factons are concerned, you can either have every city as a seperate faction, being allied/vassal to Empire or Stormcloaks, or have just 2 (main) factions, The Legion and the Stormcloaks.
    As far as the reqruitment is concerned, both the Legion and Stormcloaks reqruit normally soldiers (I mean everyone can just sign up and 1,2,3 joins the faction, like Dragonborn did). Of course there could be some area of reqruitment units, like orcs at the west and dark elves at the east, although they could be implemented as mercenaries. Also, you could give some reqruitment bonuses to factions. You could let Imperials recieving reinforcemenst every 20 let's say turns, and have well garrisoned cities( I remember a jarl who said that he/she could have reinforcements easily arrive), while Stormcloaks could rally units, after succesfully capturing holds.

    Hello guys.

    I'm not going to give a long explenation for why I have become so inactive. Instead I will give you a rather short one: I lost my motivation. I don't really know why. Probably because of other interests, both online and IRL.
    However, I would very much pitty myself, if all of my work was completely in vain. Therefore I give you the link to the whole TTW data folder. Rejoice!
    BUT: There were quite a lot people involved, and therefore I will send the link to you personally, Lord Valerius, as you seem to be the new lead designer. And even this I will only do, if you promise not to use any of the content, if the creator is not ok with it. This would most likely apply to the music, which is the sole property of Benoit Malis. I will tell him about this, and then he may or may not allow you to use the music, or even further participate in this project. But it also applies to any other content. All of the coding that is already done is my work, except for the map. I will ask both the mapper and the musician to give you permission.

    PS: I may very well help you with further advice in lore questions, coding questions, etc.
    Of course only if you want such help from me at all.
