    Default How use units from other factions?

    Hello, please, I'm playing with the Scotland and I want to know how can I add units from other factions. Example: French have the scots guards and I want to enable then to my own faction, The Scotland. Thanks.

    Have a look into the tutorial forum - 'adding a unit' and similar tutorials should explain what you are looking for.

    You would need to edit a few files-
    1- battle_models in the data/unit_models folder. In your example add an entry under scotsguard for scotland.
    2- export_descr_unit add scotland to the ownership line of the scotsguard.
    3- export_descr_building add scotland to every recruit spot for scotsguard.
    4- need to copy or make ui pics of unit to go in data/ui/unit_info/scotland and data/ui/units/scotland folders.
    Consult the tutorials further for exactly how to do this. You might need the sound files to make them have Scottish voice for the new faction.

    I believe I'm in a similar bind. I want to make Generals/General Bodyguards recruitable. For reference, the files are unpacked and game runs fine. I have inserted the "recruit_pool "NE Bodyguards....." etc lines into the EDB file. Open a new campaign turn Hamburg (playing as the Danish faction and I have already adjusted Hamburg to begin as Danish territory.) into a fortress - and the generals don't turn up. Would the data/ui/units tga files need to be referenced in the EDU?

    Did you add that recruitment line to every level of the building tree? That's the only reason I could think of. Missing text and pics will be replaced and do not lead to an error.
