Salma Yaqoob has quit the Respect Party blaming a breakdown of trust. Did Galloway try to slip her one?

Yaqoob has said that working in the party had been "extremely difficult" over the past couple of months. Galloway, the former leader of Respect and the party's best known figure stirred controversy recently by commenting on the Assange rape case saying that "not everybody needs to be asked prior to each insertion".

Hopefully this will open a few eyes for our Galloway-lovers on how Respect is little more than his ego project.

Well, that was to be expected. Galloway wants the Respect Party to become the Galloway Party, even though if you look at the meaning of it :


Respect : Galloway has no respect towards people who disagree with him, resorting to personal insults.
Environmentalism : Galloway has pissed off far too many Greens to be flying the flag of environmentalism.
Socialism : Galloway supports far too many dictators in the ME for him to be considered credible when speaking of Socialism.
Peace : see just above
Equality : Galloway is not egalitarian in the slightest and still regards women as trophies. He's an anti-Communist. Yet he supports dictators like Castro and Chavez
Community : Galloway produced some ferocious racial divide and conquer tactics to win Tower Hamlets. He destroys communities to suit his own agenda.
Trade Unionism : Galloway is a strong critic of Trade Unions in Britain and has pissed far too many off for them even to consider talking to the man.


I think when your only MP doesn't represent your party to the slightest, its time to quit. Salma Yaqoob, like many others on the Left, are just tired with Gorgeous George, who is quite simply an embarrassment to what leftism represents.

This is a generalisation, albeit a valid one. Yes, Galloway does pander to Muslims with his views on the wars, but I'll think you'll find most people regardless of their creed are in agreement with George Galloway when it comes to foreign policy and corruption. That coupled with his oratory skills that are simply unmatched in Britain explains his success more than the Muslim card that you played.

He also won the youth vote, the white vote, etc... His main opposition actually came from Muslim areas who stayed loyal to Labour ( who fielded a Muslim btw). He trounced them and won Bradford West fair and square.

You should really be arguing about Tower Hamlets and Bethnall Green, where the white people voted for a black woman and the black people voted for the Cat in the Leotard if you want to discuss how Galloway used racial and religious divides to promote his agenda.
