Urgent guys help needed asap , much appreciated

hello guys i got my kingdoms from drive2drive i have unzipped and put it in a folder in my D drive now i am stuck , ive tried running the medieval 2 preference.cfg file but it goes to the original m2tw un-install play game menu etc i would really appreciate some help as im completely stuck , im new to this so could you explain this simply to me , much appreciated

Where did you get Medieval2 and post the path of your install of Medieval2. The cfg will not help you here.

For those trying to help on this matter reference this thread. It seems D2D was acquired by Gamefly and a previous thread asked for help with this same issue - the Kingdoms files could be bought but not installed due to a problem on the download end.

@jakedove7 - You obviously bought and downloaded the game at a time when Direct2Drive was still operational. As it's now a Gamefly brand have you checked there for updates?

I see you're trying to install the game to the D:\ drive. The Gold version of this game doesn't like that path as the installer that was released for it was poorly designed (to be generous). Have you tried installing to the C:\ drive and a generic path? Something like [C:\Games]?

Are you aware of what version you bought from D2D? Is it the Gold or Original release? Unfortunately there is a difference and it would help greatly to know from our perspective. Did you buy the game in two parts? Answer this and we may have all the answer we need regarding that.

Lastly, have you ever had the game installed on that particular system in the past? If so did you uninstall it using [Add/Remove Programs] in the MS Control Panel? This is also something that we need to know. Good luck!

Hi guyes ive installed my medieval 2 total war which was a boxed version on the path Data D > medieval 2 total war. yes i checked for updates there are none , no its not the gold edition , yes i bought the game in two parts first the hard disk from my local store and then the kingdoms expansion from d2d , ive tried reinstalling patching and everything , any help would be so much aprreciated because id really love to play the expansion many thanks

another i'd just like to know how to get it to the kingdoms setup.exe file or whatever the installer from kingdoms thats all i need to do i think

i forgot to add this , sorry for the inconveinience when i unzipped and extracted it get any kingdoms setup file or medieval 2 total war kingdoms icon

Could you post a pic of your extracted folder? A clue could be in there what you're missing.

Im not quite sure how to do that but ill give it a go , im just re-downloading kingdoms seeing if that helps , thanks for the help

Hey guys the destination for the kingdoms install is D drive > program files > medieval 2 total war - the same folder i installed my original m2tw.
before i extracted i hate 4 CAB files which i am in a process of extracting now all at once? there were also 3 other files with them - Data.DDF - Data.INF this one has setup information as its type will this be of help ? the final one is a Data.RPT. i will post a screen of what the files look like when there in the folder that i have said , even though im not sure how you put these in the messages ? but once again thanks for helping me so far

also i forgot to add i have a medieval2.preference.cfg file aswell any clues how i may be able to install

Save the pic in .jpg or .png, click the Go Advanced button, and use the paperclip icon on the next screen.
The installer is supposed to read the registry for the Medieval2 install so anything else won't help.

Attatch the readme file and the data file that says it contains setup information.

it also gives me the option to install that setup file but when i do nothing happens now

Is it readme.txt?
If so you can add the file the same way as adding the pic.

yes it is read me text on notepad add it to what and how ? , how do i install it im really confused

Each one of the Campaigns should have its own setup.exe just like the disc version starting with Americas Campaign.
Look in there.
Win 7 or Vista, disable the UAC first if not done so.

there not in any of the campaigns only pack files are there which i dont know how to open

none of the campaigns have none of those only PACK files which i cant read

In the readme, see if these are listed:
kingdoms.exe
tools folder.
unpacker folder.
update2 folder
update3 folder.

If not, Direct2Drive/Gamefly owes you either the rest of the Kingdoms Campaign discs or a refund.

Right guys spread the word do not buy from gamefly pile of

(excuse my language ), i have downloaded the gold edition instead from gamers gate and is working fine at the moment but id like to thank you all very much for those who tried to help me it was muc appreciated.
