I wonder how the civil wars experienced by Roman generals will be represented in TW:R2? Perhaps each general will have a bar measuring their achievements like RTW had a bar for each Roman faction representing their popularity with the people. I imagine such a bar would gradually fill up for every victory against an enemy army, and if the victory is against a large enemy army then the bar would fill up quicker? If a faction was subdued to a client state or a faction destroyed this would also rise significantly. However, for a civil war to occur there would have to be a great deal of bondage between the general and his army. It would be unrealistic to place a general like Caesar in command of a newly recruited army or one which he has not won distinct victories with and expect him to rebel, regardless of his prior successes with his previous army. Will civil wars even occur prior to the Marian reforms?
Then i wonder what CA will do to prevent the player from simply disbanding, sending on a death boat trip or placing that general in a different office/army. Historically, Caesar remained in power simply thanks to the (secret) alliance with Pompey and Crassus but once Crassus died he lost political influence in Rome and was forced to rebel or face certain persecution.
How do you think civil war will actually be implemented? It is after all one of the major slogans of CA of whether you will fight to defend the republic or institute an empire.
