    Default Video editing AMVs

I've made a few videos of anime clips to music and felt pretty good about them but I really want to make much nice quality one now. So I've been trying to figure out what video editing program would work best. I used windows movie maker for the longest time, but it just can't do a lot of the advanced things I'd like. Someone suggested Sony Vegas but I just wanted to see some other options.

The most I'll use this are for AMVs and youtube poops. I'd just like the chance to see if I can make something close to the level of Deepercutt's vids.

Vegas is perhaps the best prosumer editing program out there. iMovie is OK, but clunky. There are plenty of plug ins for it to do quite a bit of semi-advanced stuff. I've personally never used it but the writer I work with and one other person I know love it and are constantly raving about what they can do with it, so I believe it's a good low end editing program.

Then you move on up into the Final Cut and Premiere world. Two editing systems that do essentially the same thing and are considered professional quality editing systems (That is if you use a version of Final Cut before X, they just ruined the thing with X). But with those two systems, in tandem with programs like After Effects and Photoshop, the sky's the limit.

After that your moving up into the Avid world and it's waaaaay beyond anything you need.

However, in the end, they're all just tools and like any tool, it's how you use it.

    Good luck.

Thanks, just wondering which sony vegas should I get? Is Vegas movie studio any good or do I really need Vegas 5-9?
