Default Will we finally get the glorious achievements victory back?

Empire had something like this but it was.... weird at best.

For all those who started later in the series:

Basically it was another way to win the game without the need of endless expansion. It was a scoring system that gave you points for defending your home provinces and for doing other missions.it had some very interesting ones such as becoming a trade superpower.

I donīt see why this feature was removed but then again a lot of cool things from the older games were forgotten when Rome came out.

Dunno, I always liked this option from time to time.Could also help to alleviate the aggressive AI because now it now has other goals rather than expansion.

Also bring back the AI that tries to win please

Yes please- as abstract as a concept such as 'victory' is in the context of a start to end date for a civilization- conquer a bunch of territories is such a bland and uncreative goal. Who won the Empire (1700 -1800) campaign in real life? Can 'victory' not be determined through economic, cultural, or diplomatic hegemony? Victory as a function of prestige points or through these glorious achievements is a much more varied and realistic concept.

I almost did, but my computer died before i could conquer Austria and Russia. But we did have achievements like Maratha of the Indies, and the same for Europe and America. Its a nice idea to win the game with trade, but since the game is called Total War, i doubt there will be such feature included. It would be awesome though ...

I mean in actual history, who 'won' the 18th century according to ETW's victory conditions? Conquering a few nearby provinces seems a poor measure of this.

That would be nice, Glorious Achievements were a nice alternative to endlessly conquering the map. It also pretty much doubled the replayability of Medieval, although some factions at different starting dates never had fully fledged missions like the trade or build a cathedral ones.

    Please bring back

I would be in support of this. However most of those conditions are still through War but just holding certain areas.

King of the Hill essentially, and with that.. I'd love to see the return of more then 2 teams. For balance reasons, at least 3 teams to ensure 1 army isn't completely dominant. Also instead of doing it "you get X points if this province is conquered by you in the year 1250".. give a couple points every turn. More every turn the longer you hold it.

Establish a trade agreement with 1,3,5 factions for 10 years.
Successfully get a general/Agent/Legion to rank (6?) 5, 10, 20 times. All 3 of those units would be separate of course.
At any point in time have 2,5,10 vassals under your command.
Be in the top 5 to research X technology first. 25 points for first, 20 for second ect..
    Reach a global population of 5, 15, 25, 50, 100 million.
When global region wealth accumulates over 100,000, exempt taxes in all regions for 1, 3, 5 years.
Do not recruit X Agent/X Unit through out the campaign.
At any point in time reach 200 diplomatic points with 2,5,10 factions.
Become the Emperor of (Europe?) and hold that position for 2,5,10 years.

Just a couple examples. Some of these put you at a disadvantage. And I'm sure becoming emperor will make you many friends, but plenty enemies as well. Hell, depending on how the campaign is structured, all of these could possibly put you at a disadvantage.

Come on CA, this is somewhat of a good idea me thinks...
