Default Shimazu: Where should i go now?

So I started a Shimazu campaign on hard the other day and while it is going pretty well my progress has come to a bit of a halt. Currently allied with every clan except the Ikko ikki and the Homma. The Kono and Chosokabe are my vassals and the Hattori are the new Shogunate. Attached a picture of my map, anyone got any ideas where I should attack?

It depends on what is your aim really.
Do you want to be the Shogun?
Or do you just want to mess around?
    Have you hit Realm Divide?

Other than that i would advice targeting enemy provinces that are useful like Armory Upgrades and seeing that you have alot of Koku, you can immediately churn out a powerful force.
If you are Christian, send your missionaries to create havoc in the main land.
If you have a high level Metsuke, you can practically bribe your way to victory. (Did it with the Tokugawa where 4 stacks were bought over by me)
Try not to go for Provinces that leaves you exposed on many fronts.
Thats about all i can give you though

Get Mori provinces [or its captured by grey clan shown on map]

Get more navy power stream to prevent Shikoku island from mainland and you should not get problems

That would be the best way to conquer
Its easy to make war with others, its never been easy when we need a peace.

My holy damn simple tactic; Strike First, Strike HARD and SHOW NO MERCY.

I always enjoy taking the Honma island, after that you can easily sail to the East and land on Date territory, which is easy to defend.
Then you can move your armies towards kyoto from two directions; the West where your home territories are, and the East/North, where you took out the Date

hmmm think I'll attack through the Date lands while bribing my way through the Hattori. Want to keep them allied as long as possible to keep my economy as high as it is.

I think its waste your time

When divided realms is happens, you will screw up on Date lands and you can't fought both way so long

and end up frustrated on later game

I agree, I think you should conquer the lands near you. Perhaps the old Mori lands (as said before) and maybe even the Hattori lands if you wanna be Shogun or if you wanna have less trouble with them in Realm Divide.

Managed to get to 19 provinces before realm divide hit, quickly used that as a chance to take Kyoto however 2 turns after becoming shogun 5 full stacks of Hattori show up. I nearly get reinforcements over but my fllet is sunk along with my best general. Isn't realm divide great

I highly recommend you to take on Mori lands and keep going from west to central. Slowly but fortified on the way.

If you rush to Shogun castle [Kyoto] without support from west OR east, you will be backstab so many times.

If you want some economy growth, try to make vassal after realms divided, they will allied with you last longer than make vassal before events happens, thus they will help you fight off some invader too or even send the reinforcement [rare though]

I would capture Edo island and Isu (I think that's their names), They both have Gold mines and are easily defendable, they will boost your economy like crazy.

Like Winter said, I'd strategically go for the economy provinces now, since your are worried about economic collapse at RD.

    Its Sado Island and Izu.

(Its clickable by the way....An S2 overhaul mod.)

Seriously. Click it. Its the only overhaul mod that's overhauling enough to bring out NEW clans

High level generals aren't that important when you fight the battles yourself, they sure help, but don't make a huge difference, I would keep defending the city and use boats to transport as many units as possible to your warzone. Have you captured Sado island and Izu (thanks for correcting me Erwin), the Hattori have Izu (if they're the red clan, which I think it is) and Sado island is still held by the Sado clan. 2 goldmines are a lot of money you know.
