Default is everybody in an imperial clan ?

somehow alsmost every player above silver star i fight has some 150 range bears. Is this realy only possible with that one clan speciality ? The big (i mean Quantity not Qualitiy) public clans i tried out so far all had sword as speciality. It seems as if most players join an imperial clan when they get better because in battles with a lot of veterans involved extended bear range is the best way to spend clan tokens.

Whats your opinion about 150 range Bears ?

excuse my english, im not native speaking

Imperial is overall more useful, but not in any way crucial. I've seen some nice cores featuring 150' range torts : ) Most of armies needs one or two of 150 rangers anyway. Some maps may require more but overall 2 are more then enough. If you rely on powerful line inf. - 2 marines are better choice - they will as a rule be more efficient in a firefight then bears, and not that much expensive /I've put replenish on american marines, now I can take two units in every fight) - I have 5 x 150' range bears but I usually bring one or none. On certain maps that you cannot position yourself wide I will bring just 3-4 of 150 rangers, usually I take 6 or more linies.

Overall bear is medium "best buy" line unit, with modern rifles and decent shooting stats, but sometimes sheer quantity and position is more important. Overall balance has been set pretty nicely in cost and effectiveness of line infantry.

I believe you'd only go for shogunate clan if you want the banzai/inspire upgrade on the Shogunate guard cavalry or have a 150 range SGI. Bears are more better optimized to have 150 range at a cheap cost and besides you only get torts for that numbers superiority right?
