    Default Bodies piling up

I can't remember where I read it now. But am I the only one who thinks this would be a good enough sequal if this was the only improvement?

They're tricking you. This exact same feature was in RTW.

No. Units would walk through corpses that lied distinctively flat on the ground. Now they actualy look like piles of flesh.

Question is whether they really pile up on one another, I'd say no. Any footage to the contrary?

In RTW the bodies overlapped and were flat on the ground, at least they did for me.

Yes, but they also had thier own mass, and certain bodies couldn't be walked over. Horses, in particular, and of coarse elephants, and chariots.

It would also be nice if they put a feature where (in some occations) the rider of a cavalry dies and the horse remains in the battlefield (running or just moving around). It would also be nice to see arrow and javelin stay in the ground. But of course what im saying will murder video cards, memory and processors alike!

I think they said that the dead are now in 3D.
What would be nice though, is if, troops actually had to climb up and over mounds of dead and the writhing wounded. Stuff I have read about, but it still sounds strange.

Any intense prolonged combat, ie: a contested breach would I presume force the assailants to make a 'climb' of their own dead and wounded. which wouldn't be easy to navigate as, it would make for unsure footing!
Whether this will actually be portrayed properly in the game awaits to be see. Also apart from the unsteady footing of said mound, 'does the king of the hill'(those on top of said mound) gain a height advantage?

Unit's walk throug dead soldiers and horses, but not through elephants. Once a Elephant died infront of my Gate, and this was why I won the battle. The enemy wasn't able to enter, because of the dead elephant.

Hmm, i always thought that you could walk through elephant corpses, maybe its just the small elephants.

Interesting tactic though, clog the streets with corpses so that they cant get to the central plaza in time!

hoping we wont be seeing 'HotShots 2' style mountains of dead bodies though.

On a serious note, will the corpse walking have a negative morale effect on the soldiers?

I vaguely remember an MTW unit stat. 'Distraught at number of casualties', or something like that, it badly affected non professional and undisciplined units, from what I remember...

Well that only had to do with death of men in the unit. It has the same thing in RTW after 1.5. the dead men on the ground has no affect on a unit walking threw it but that would be cool to implimate.

If you don't care then why post in this thread?

It would certainly be a nice touch if this is implemented properly. I think it would be somewhat annoying if you couldn't attack through bodies but a combat modifier based on the number of bodies the unit has to climb over to reach the enemy would be good.

if you take a close look at one of the earliest screens (where we had blue guys attacking a hill with english infantry and a passing english cavalry and trebouchets in background) you could see how this body thingy is done. and quite honestly I thought it was one of the best eye candies ever...

that would be the best thing instead of just restricting attack through body pile...
