You should be more careful about boss section of the shields. And you may try to use concave ones.

Here is one of the my shields:

Looking pretty good! Nice time period and setting, especially since I'm working on similar stuff but in the period just prior to that (4th-6th century).

However I'd refrain from using so many polygons for the face if I were you. Even small things like the iris and the pupils have their own polygons which is insane and pretty much unnecessary for M2TW. Which doesn't mean that it doesn't look great. But with a lower poly face and a good looking texture you can get the same result and doesn't weight heavy on systems to run huge battles smoothly.

Also, either I'd give the unit some kind of waist belt (because the body is narrower on the waist suggesting some kind of belt) or I'd broaden the waist itself. Otherwise it would look a bit weird and it would have been impossible to put on the chainmail armour.

    Good luck!

    thanks raz.

i was exactly thinking the same thing about belt.i n my referance picture there was no belt.but probably i ll give him an islamic type belt as u mentioned.

about polygons i think that face detail is a must.u ll understand when i give ingame screenshoot of my unit.i am still trying to find a better way for normal mapping.i mean better software than nvdia plugin.actually i ve industry standard crazybump software.it makes very good high quality normal maps.but in m2tw engine its too shiny and even in photoshop i made it darker it did not help.

also m2tw is an old game.nowadays people has very high systems.so faces are okay.if i can find time i ll subdivide all the body not only face and try in the game.i wonder performance of high poly models in the battles.

    thanks for ur comments.

True, computers are faster nowadays, but M2TW utilizes only one CPU core and not multiple. So M2TW would run faster on a P4 3.4 GHz than on my i920 2.67 GHz for example.

More subdivisions? I would refrain from doing that unless really necessary (which is a subjective matter obviously). Anyway, perhaps you should test the performance of huge battles with all high poly units and a low poly units and see the result. Also remember that not everybody might have a super computer.

    And, you're welcome.

yes it needs tests.perhaps just hand and fingers.in m2tw game engine fingers are not modeled well.we should able to count the 5 fingers.

Absolutely incredible work. I'm really looking forward to seeing how well your units work in game, MHP.

Firstly, i wish the mod will be published in TWC as a finished project.

And in later times, i would like to help for Khazar Khanate stuff. Shield, banners etc.

Good luck for your labor again.

By the way when i saw ansar warrior face poligons, i suddenly said "whoa" ! Great details.

I hope it doesn't slow the game perfomance.

and i have a little suggestion.
Your faction unit images are too colorful to watch. I can't examine them easily. You should desaturate them much more.

    One observasion only...
In the mod's timeframe only straight blade swords...
TGC in order to continue its development seak one or more desicated scripters to put our campaign scripts mess to an order plus to create new events and create the finall missing factions recruitment system. In return TGC will give permision to those that will help to use its material stepe by step. The result will be a fully released TGC plus many mods that will benefit TGC's material.
Despite the mod is dead does not mean that anyone can use its material
    read this to avoid misunderstandings.

IWTE tool master and world txt one like this, needed inorder to release TGC 1.0 official to help TWC to survive.
Adding MARKA HORSES in your mod and create new varietions of them. Tutorial RESTORED.
