Oi, lets not get too hasty, enjoy Rome II cause that'll be out before I change factions.More soon to come.
I seeAnd respect to that. Those are quality units anyway!
How many % of this mod is completed ?
50% I would give as a guesstimation, map is done just needs to have everything put on it. No 2d art but that's no biggie and Sassanian Roster has been put on hold because of Naddum's disappearance. But no worries this mod will never die so just wait please, it is a virtue and will make playing End of Antiquity all the more sweeter.![]()
Just out of interest, will there be a rebel/usurper Roman faction in this mod?
Yes as per history they will appear when they did in history.
Will the player be able to side with the rebels?
Well no, your suppose to suppress incorporate them back into the fold.
If your Roman or Persian...otherwise yes.

wow i admit i'm stunned by the total awesomeness of the romans in this mod. I'm speechless. As Emperor Heraclius is one of my most fav Roman emperors i always wanted a mod based on his era. This is truely amazing to me. I tried to rep but "You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Caudillo87 again" Looking foreward for this MASTERPIECE
No offense to other modders but the Romans here are BY FAR the most amazing, realistic & stunningly detailed i ever seen. I love detail & i look for details everywhere, here the detail is jawdropping. Seriously. Those crested helmets, the shield designs, the golden necklace with gems, the colored spears, colored pteruges (leather straps), angels or saint figures on helms, splendid armor, all that stuff is just... WOW.![]()
Just be patient mate, soon you'll get a nice little teaser by playing with the Emperor Maurikios![]()

Different era (4th century AD not 7th).
There were sojme very important differences in the appearance of the Sassanian army.

Just stumbled upon this magnificent looking project, looks stunning. I did notice a lack of Greek on the banners and Roman names thoughLatin was being officially replaced by Heraklios and as I am sure you are aware Greek was lingua franca in the east.
Latin was not officially replaced with Greek in Heraclius' reign. Heraclius used more Greek titles than previous Emperors, that's true, but there wasn't a sudden break. The Empire had been legislating in Greek alongside Latin as far back as Justinian's day, and for most of the Heraclian dynasty Latin would also still be used: see, for example, the mosaic of Heraclius' great-grandson Constantine IV that calls him Imperator. This being so, I don't think it's especially unreasonable for a campaign beginning in 610 to include plenty of Latin.
No I suppose your right, I just expected to see more use of Greek. But as you say Latin was the official language of the army, but Greek was language of church and law, even during Justinian's reign 535 Justinian made Greek language of state (G. Dagron 'Aux origines de la civilisation byzantine:langue de culture et langue d'etat' Revue Historique, 1969) But as Brian Croke points out Constantinople contained large groups of Latin speakers the senatorial class and refugees and migrants from the west and Africa
Thanks Giorgios and Aiskhylos for your discussion, I thougt Heraclius changed the official language of Empire. I should study more![]()
Not at all: plenty of books state Heraclius changing the language as an outright fact. The actual picture is more nuanced: the Empire was on a gradual path from a bilingual, but primarily Latin-speaking government to a solely Greek-speaking government throughout the 450-700 period.
Of course, the term "Greek" should perhaps not be used for the language, which was called "Romaic" by its speakers.
