excuse me, i see some of the screenshots here showing mesopotamia in 612 ad, which must be part of the sassanian empire... what i don't get is the crescent and star emblem on the sassanian flag. as far as i know, that's got nothing to do with the persian history, and is more of a post islam icon used by both turkic and arab rulers. second thing is the city of tisefon, which looks to me to have a huge mosque and menareh's in it. again, domes were widely used in persian architecture but what a persian huge city looks like here is more islamic than a pre-islamic city. i strongly suggest you make a difference between the looks of the persian cities upgraded by sassanians and the cities probably developed under islamic rule. these are just such huge goofs you can't dismiss. please correct if you're still in beta testing phase.

Map, and all banners, and everything to do with campaign map is not complete. Strat models on the map are not complete. Everything you see is vanilla. Please have patience with us, Thanks!

It has King Agilulf helmet's visor, so I suppose it's a WIP model for a langobard rex! Whatever, it's wonderful Caudillo!

Yes and no. The helmet is an Avaric design that greatly influenced the roman army especially the cavalry armament. Lombard helmets were slightly different, taller and had an upside down cup shape. But the armor was indeed used by the Lombards as well as many other Germanic tribes. But nice try. And yes I have read your pm, good decision right?

Oh! I thought the helmet was a bit different to was usual in langobards, and the model did not have the germanic facial features you used in other models (as the optimates) but more roman-like, so it was a wild guess. Noneless, I'd love to see it-game. I'll let someone find the final answer.

Yes, good move. I'd wait to see what do you next whith it. I'll stay tuned.

The Sassanians and Parthians nd Persian were Aryans (Eransahr - land of the Aryans -= Iran).

However this a Langobardi, a Gasindii Cavalryman I believe. (great skin and model!)

    Tolkien states it best:

In letters 29 & 30, it appears that a German translation of The Hobbit was being negotiated in 1938. The German firm enquired whether Tolkien was of Arisch (Aryan) origin. Tolkien was infuriated by this, and wrote two drafts of possible replies for his publisher to choose. The first one is not present - in it Tolkien is assumed to have refused to give any declaration whatsoever of his racial origins. The second, surviving, draft included:

Thank you for your letter ... I regret that I am not clear as to what you intend by arisch. I am not of Aryan extraction: that is Indo-Iranian; as far as I am aware none of my ancestors spoke Hindustani, Persian, Gypsy, or any related dialects. But if I am to understand that you are enquiring whether I am of Jewish origin, I can only reply that I regret that I appear to have no ancestors of that gifted people.

too bad,the word "aryan" is heavily wasted with remnants of the "völkisch movement" ideology, being used in a (wrong) racist content. so it is still today a bad word and blamed in the public.but i think jupiter also know this and he stated a good point. i think the reason is, that the models are partly originally rusichi ones and so more eastern european looking

These are the regional heavy cavalry units from the Orient stationed in Antioch. Equipped with armament befitting a unit stationed in the third city of the Empire as well as to be able to counter most of the Persian forces.
