    Rhomania will not Fall!

The Obsequium Protectores Palatina are the Emperor's finest Lancers, worthy of their Macedonian predecessors these men serve the Emperor and will fight till the death in defense of the Empire!

They like other guard units, will only be recruitable in Constantinople and will serve as the best answer to counter the Avar horsemen of the North and the formidable Savaran of Eranshahr.

Will we see any other units (infantry and cavalry) wear the type of helmet that this unit is wearing?

Do you know what type of warship the Sassanid use, is it Greek Trireme or Byzantine Dromon or Arab Dhow?

I have no idea, but the Persians at this time did not have any way to battle the Romans on the seas, which was why they never crossed the Bosphorus in 618. But in End of Antiquity if the Persians take any of the Roman cities with a port they will have access to their superb navy until the city is taken back.

In fact, Sassanid Persians have a navy even before End of Antiquity timeline to repel pirates although some reports said that they have sailors and marines consists of convicts and prisoners which make their navy a below average navy but in David Nicolle's Sassanian Armies: The Iranian Empire Early 3rd to Mid-7th Centuries AD, he mentions that Sassanid have a navy capable to handle any threat from piracy to naval battles.

Before the Sassanians conquered Egypt they crash-started a adhoc fleet using it for a combined land-sea operation to conquer Alexandria. Later in the war they conquered Cypern and Rhodos. Not to Forget the great naval expedition when they conquered Yemen in 6th century. David Nicholle considered the Sassanian navy as underestimated by many Researchers. They did have excellent sailors and marines recruited among pre-islamic people of Sind, Oman and Yemen.

Well, like I said I dont know too much about the Persian Navy at this time, If somebody knows anything like what the type of ships they had, what they were called and what they looked like then I can add them but since there is nothing to go on I have to say that they will use Roman ships once they capture Roman cities on the coast.

I don't know whether they use Lenj during the Sassanid times, but given that they have been severed from the Hellenic shipbuilding knowledge for a long time it could be possible that they have develop a unique shipbuilding pattern instead of building Greek Trireme or Byzantine Dromon. Here's some Lenj photo:

    Great work, as always!

Here's a new signature banner I've made, featuring one of your units.

But if there's more picture about Lenj with sails, it would be good to use Lenj as warship mixed with Dhow.
