I just finished the Foederatoi, they look pretty neat. I will post pics when I get back home, I toned down the gold so it looks dull and realistic. They will be very effective axemen, worthy of their warrior ancestors but will only be recruitable in power centers in Europe, I don't think it would be realistic if you could recruit Barbarian Foederatoi in Asia or Egypt maybe Carthage because of a Vandal populace but we'll see.

Also, if anyone would know what would be the proper vexilia symbol for each Numerus and Auxilia that would be great.

The Vexilia at this time period where adored with christian iconography, the Chi-Ro being one of them, and the famous writing "In Hoc Signo Vinces Sempre", and each unit may have had its legion name on it and its unit number.

    Cheers

So, roughly, how many Roman units will have the ridge helmet?

Thanks, I guessed as much the chi-rho, and I was also thinking of adding pics of Christian saints as well and I guess I would use this format:

"Name of the unit" NVM "Legion Number"

    Unique Unit of Africa

    Auxilia Libyii Iustiniani

The Libyii Iustiniani were attested to exist in the service of the Exarch of Carthage by the early 7th century along with the Numerus Felices Iustiniani. Created in Carthage after the re-conquest of North Africa by the Emperor Justinian and named after him in his honor. They probably were last seen defending Carthage in the wake of the Muslim invasions in the later half of the 7th century.

Here two articles about the late sassanid persian armies and about persians and persarmenians in the army of the roman empire :

Part III Military and society in Sassanian Iran: http://www.academia.edu/1988347/Figh...rrected_Proof_

Iranian Contingents in the Byzantine army: http://archive.org/stream/IranianCon...ge/n7/mode/2up in the pages 253-254-255 speaks about persians in the byzantine army during the timeframe of the mod, and the possible existence in the byzantine army of a persian equivalent to the ancient bucellariii.

Thanks for the info, I plan on reworking the Sassanians soon - I just finished the Felices Iustiniani but I think I have been posting too many pics. So you all will have to wait a bit longer for any more previews. But as you may know by now I like to have every unit in the army to have the same type of quality and detail so now I will re work the elite palace units of Constantinople then to the mighty Persian empire. Kind regards every body!

Will there be more than one type of scutati unit available to recruit depending on the regions like Italy or Syria?
So different scutati units recruit-able in different places.

No, there will be only one Scutati unit for everybody as it would be rather pointless to have different scutati models.

    Yes correct...
Scutati and promachoi (front line heavier scutati) can be common through out the entire empire.
Scutati can start with no armor and have leather cuirasses and have finall chain mail (short) upgrade.
Each upgrade can use one shield pattern that will be different from the other.
Promachoi must start with long chain mails and have an upgrade with scale cuirasses.
Again each upgrade can use one shield pattern.

That way all 5 versions , placed side by side will give the impression of differend bandums.
TGC in order to continue its development seak one or more desicated scripters to put our campaign scripts mess to an order plus to create new events and create the finall missing factions recruitment system. In return TGC will give permision to those that will help to use its material stepe by step. The result will be a fully released TGC plus many mods that will benefit TGC's material.
Despite the mod is dead does not mean that anyone can use its material

Yes. New, revamped and re-equipped to wage war in the Emperor's name. I decided to upgrade from the 1st generation models, I really like them and I really like the shield design.

    Keep only seax knives...
