Great looking mod, and as a fan of the Eastern Roman Empire I will probably pick it up. Any possibility of a serbian state appearining on the map? Probably as a vassal state of the Empire at start as Heraclitus gave Serbs some land for accepting him. Check this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unknown_Archont

Do you have any more in depth info about them to make a whole entire faction? Unit examples, titles, banners, building types, etc?

They'd be exactly the same as any other Slavic tribe in this time period.

Except they weren't Serbs at this time. Probably slavic ancestors. Are you from Serbia, perchance?

And apparently where the "white serbs" we're from, was a so called:

    mythical homeland

They were called Serbs, as parts of the tribe remained in the near Baltic regions when the migration took place, still calling themselves the same today, with minor deviation. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sorbs I am from Serbia. It is called mythical cause it is very unclear as to from where the south slavs took off in their migration. At this time, Serbs and Croats had already established states capable of posing problems to the Empire and the Khanate.

No, I disagree. The Serbs at this time were Slavs, referred to as "White Serbs" In the text. I doubt they could have posed a real threat to the empire, and it is highly likely that They were the founding fathers of the serbs, but not Serbs themselves.
And these Croats and Serbian states were just little tribes, not unified enough to threaten nations such as the khanate or the roman empire.

Well then that means that due to the familiarity with other Slavs there really shouldnt be a different faction but one slavic faction since the only difference would be the name, but I will think about it.

There isn't even proof they existed as a seperate entity, it's not worth your time . They would be the same as the other Slavs.
A useful faction would probably be the Hephataphilates or the Armenians, which were actually a force to contend with, and a rival for the Persians and one ally for the Romans.

Considering the low importance of the Archonty of Serbia and Duchy of Crotia in this time I agree thay would not be a major gameplay factor at all, but I simply note that they existed in the time and place that mod takes place in. I gave you evidence that Serbs and Croats and that time did identify themselves by those names, as parts of their tribes that did not come to Balkans kept those names, implying that the names were concieved before the split took part.
When I see a mod it is always better to see minor historical factions scattered around, than simply rebel territories. These minor states could simply be something to make things a bit more challenged to Rome and Avars. Talking about these petty states, you also had Duchies of Tuscany, Spoleto and Benevonto formed in this era, which could make things more interesting for the Lobards. I suggest only 'cause I see only 5(7) slots used.

As for in depth info, very little is known appart that they existed, what they were called and that they fought the Avars. Serbian national identity was built on Orthodox Roman heritage, center images of serban heraldry were the roman two headed eagle and a modified tetragrammatic cross, non of which were taken into use by this time. Doubt they even had banners back then, but if they had, they could'ave been the symbols of their religion, some of which were saved.

Also, are you planning to have Bulgaria as an emergant faction if Khazars conquer the Avars or something like that?

No, Bulgars invaded the Danube area in around 680 by Khan Aspraukh and defeated the Roman Emperor Constantine IV, that is what I am thinking about so they can come in and give that whole region Hell for everybody.

The Khazars were a huge important factor in the final defeat of the Sassanid Empire in 628 so I was deciding whether or not to have a Khazar Army spawn in Azerbaijan or an entire faction.

I agree, the main focus of this mod is the titanic battle between the Romans and Persians as told by Theophanes and whoever wins must contend with the full force of the Islamic Wave, which happens some 20 years after this mod starts..,

As for Italy I was just simplifying by making the Lombards into just one faction because italy isn't big enough to have all of those small dominions.

But on a different note, does anybody have any info on what the Franks were doing at this time and any info on their arms and armor because I was planing on adding a few Frankish mercs as rebels and for whoever controls the province north of the alps.

The franks had formed quite a domain at this time, probably dominating almost all of France.
