Help with sheilds

Hey everyone. I am playing as Scotland and on my road to empire, I want to give the game a feel of advancement from barbarian highlanders to advanced plate wearing warriors as I expand and encorporate technology from other cultures. So far, I was able to give Scotland better cavalry like germades (sorry about spelling) and infantry (like halberdiers), but I was wondering if it is there was a simple way to have venitian Dismounted Broken Lances, but with Scottish shields? If not, I will just keep the venetian model, but I would love for my warriors to bear the right heraldic device on their shields (don't want any confusions in battle ).

This thread might help you. Not 100% sure because I haven't really read through it, but it had to do with switching out shields.
