will you be able to give titles like Duke, count, or earl like the first MTW? :hmmm:

That would be cool.
"Non, je n'ai point de réponse à faire à votre général que par la bouche de mes canons et de mes fusils."
"No, I have no answer for your general than by the mouths of my canons and rifles,"
-Louis de Buade de Frontenac, Governor of New France
It was a very nice idea that added flavour to the game and allowed you to play a "loyal general" kind of a game. Which was simply a great idea.
From the pride and arrogance of the Romans nothing is sacred. But the vindictive gods are now at hand. On this spot we must either conquer, or die with glory (Boudiccas Speech, Tacitus, Annals, XIV, 35)
under Patronage of Emperor Dimitricus, Granddaughter of the Black Prince.
Idea? I thought this was in already. Just goes to show how little I know I suppose. Perhaps that court of nobles thing can have something to do with titles?
You are right, it is in. Though you can't simply make up unlimited titles, there are certain amount you can give to generals/familymembers (or take away). Im guessing it'll work the same as it did in the original MTW.Originally Posted by Barbarian-Bob

Haha! That'd be funny if we could make unlimited, silly, unimportant titles, like in Blackadder. If I'm not mistaken, he's the "Lord Warden of the Royal Privies" and "The Laird of Roxburgh, Selkirk, and Peebles".Originally Posted by smoke

The old tilte giving system from MTW was briliant and one of the things i missed in Rome.
Never think that war, no matter how necessary, nor how justified, is not a crime---Hemingway
"There is nothing wrong with serving in several regiments."---Nobby Nobbs
"Not if you do it during one and the same battle"---Sgt. Colon
Well all I know is that there are kings instead of faction leaders. It shows on the latest trailer.
What would be cool to have is if, when you conquer all of the lands of an enemy, you usurp their main title. Say, you play as the German HRE, and you completely conquer the French. It'd be cool if the title "King of France" was added to your "Holy Roman Emperor" title.
Another title-relating thing would be to customize the reign name of your leader. Not all leaders took their birth name as their reign name, you know.
Why are you judging a game that very little is known about?Originally Posted by Ewan
Who says MTW2 will just be a watered down MTW? Thats pretty low bashing CA just for the sake of it and with no evidence to back up your claims.
I am pretty sure that MTW2 will have titles and such and that it will be exactly the same as the title system from BI.

From what we've seen it's the contrary. Most of the features from the original are being used: crusades, princesses, inquisitors etc. Combine that with the inclusion of merchants, Aztecs and more factions and calling MTW2 'watered down' is errr...strange.
I'm convinced titles are in.

Not having played the original MTW, can someone explain how titles were endowed and what sorts of titles there were? I wonder how titles were affect family members: will it affect loyalty mostly or will it give other attributes? If the title is something akin to Duke of York, will the title appropriate extra income if the person bearing that title is placed in York?
Yip definately tempted to start recording the useless comments made about MTW2 like that one.Originally Posted by Ewan

Maybe... another game... like... oh i dunno... Soldner.
THey are like than "rentiques" of RTw. but very diferent also...
each province has either 0 to 2 tittles , so for example i think León has, "king of Leon" , you can give that title to any of your generals and this can give them managment and/or military bonuses and more loyalty to you. once given they will remain with the generals untill he dies.
I often gave them to my less loyal generals to avoid civil wars.
the Title apaers in the province as a unit and you must drag it to the general you wich to give it.
History is a set of lies agreed upon.

Mostly correct, you could however, atleast in VI, remove the title by using a spy on the general.Originally Posted by Cayo_Julio_Cesar

I would certainly like to give my titles to the merc generals this time around, I hated not bieng able to do that in MTW. I mean, you could marry your Princess off to your mercs but you could give em titles!?
When I was Ireland(XLmod) I always had this great Arabic general who I wanted to be "Prince of Wales", hopefully I can do that this time around.

Well they had titles in BI so I see no reason why they would remove it now.
Most games genres do this. With a same production time, and graphics are more emphasised so quite often something has to be giving up.
I loved the original M:tw game, i thought it had so much more depth and gameplay then Rome ( including BI ).
yet still some of the greatest features of m:tw are missing , such as civil wars , faction emergings and entering the game at diffrent time eras. Most of the features from the original are being used: crusades, princesses, inquisitors etc.
At the end of the day of course i am looking forward to this game and will buy as soon as it is available but i dont think it will pass the high standard that m:tw has left. I just think sadly graphics have been givin a priority in game developement over game depth ( like the vast majourity of games designed these days )
Loyality is in so civil wars is most likely in since well you can't really have one without the other, the same as factions emerging.Originally Posted by Ewan
