Icon4 Macedon crashes at 136 SE

Hi, I'm using Windows 7, Intel i3, M330 @ 2.13 Ghz as my CPU, 4 GB RAM, my graphic card is ATI Mobility Radeon HD 545v. The current RS version is RS II 2.5 with Alex. I'm playing as Macedon. It is installed at F:/RTW. And I'm playing 0-turn.

Anyway the game crashed at 154 SE, I tried to stop everyone of my troops from moving, but still I got a CTD. I followed the instruction, set the veg to low, tick the shader, disabled the autosave. Please help me!

    0 turn or 1 turn?

I loaded the game as a 0-turn campaign and pressed end turn and had no problems.

This is a 0-turn campaign. Really no problems?
I first thought is one my troops causing that trouble, so I stopped them from moving, but still I got crashed.

Actually, I made a mistake here, it is two turns after this, then the game crashed. Sorry I will upload the most rencent file later.

I uploaded a new save, can someone please take a look at it, and tell me what should I do?

I will try and have a look at it at some stage.

However, I'm very busy this weekend. F1 race from Spa-Francorchamps, WoT event where you get more experience for the first win etc. etc.....

I've been a paying spectator at 68 F1 races around the world .

My first three races were when I was living in Perth (WA) and was Alediade in 86, 87 and 88. The rest of the GPs were based out of the UK.

    I've been to the F1 race at Imola 6 times (89, 92, 94, 95, 96 and 97) and to the F1 race at Monza 9 times (91, 93, 94, 95, 96, 98, 04, 06 and 07).

I was in Montreal to see Alesi win his only F1 GP.

I was at the Nurburgring in 1995 to watch Schumacher's (in a Benetton) amazing race there (he stopped an extra time and took the lead from Alesi at the last chicane).

I was at the Hungaroring to watch Schumacher's (in a Ferrari) amazing win against all odds (he made an extra pit stop and each lap was essentially a qualifying lap) in 1998. The Fins were going crazy but all went quiet when Schumacher came out of the pits from his last stop still in the lead. The Fins were waving flags all over the place and obscuring our view from the grandstands.

I was also at the Hungaroring in 1989 to see Mansell win there in a Ferrari.

In the mid 90s the Ferraris (with V12s) were quite often the first cars out of the pits. At places like Spa-Francorchamps and Monza you could hear the shriek of the engines as they drove through the forrest or Royal Park.....

Going Monza when Schumacher was in a Benneton and Alesi/Berger were in Ferraris was an experience as the fans would barrack at each other. I have no clue what they were chanting but it was fun to watch.

I also remember the year when first Senna and then Prost went out of the race - you could hear the cheers literally from the other end of the track.

Wow, I should go to the track someday. I never had enough funds to go there. And the F1 commentators in China sucks, I have to download the BBC version. Spa is always the unpredicable track, with the ever changing weather, the hills, I'm looking forward to see Kimi though, he won the spetacular Spa grandprix in 2009, the only win for Ferrari that year.

I 1994 I managed to drive around the track from La Source through to Le Combe. I wasn't allowed to drive through Eu Rouge itself but there is a 'triangle' of road (which appears to no longer be there if you look at Google Maps) which statred just before the middle and turned left and then right and emerged towards the middle of the sequence (at least it missed the interesting bits of the corner).

1994 was the year that they put a artificial chicane at the bottom of Eu Rouge. I was watching from the other side of the track and saw a F3000 car miss a gear and then struggle up Eu Rouge! If you stand at the bottom of the hill the height of the top is simply amazing.

In 1995 I did drive around the track from La Source through to Le Combe including overtaking a German owned carvavan in the middle of Eu Rouge - for some reason the corner was open that year.

if you're based in China I'd suggest going to Suzuka if you can. I went there in 1995 and it's an amazing track with good view points. I also made it to Aida that year as it was the year that the earthquake struck Kobe. The Pacific GP at Aida was moved from easrly in the season to a week before the Japanese GP at Suzuka so I went to them both. My trip then took me to Syndney and then Perth for a few days before I flew into Adelaide for the last F1 GP race there. I returned to Perth and eventually flew from there to Sydney then Tokyo and back to London. An epic trip.

Anyway, I've loaded up your save and I also get the error. It appears to happen in the Macedon turn and Admiral Aeson moved from wherever towards Pergamon and then the game CTDs inthe Macedon turn. Nothing else appears to move.

What I did do was to use the Admiral to attack the Pergamon fleet and another one (near Rhodes) to attack the Greek fleet near Sparta. I then started construction on the Royal Place in one of your settlements (which wasn't happy) and started the Councillor's Palace (?) in the other settlement which was red. I pressed END TURN and auto resolved a battle where your forces were beseiging a Gatic settlement (attacked twice) and the game got to the next turn. The settlement Piroboridava rebelled.

With Piroboridava you may want to have a decent governor and garrison in that settlement to prevent the uprising (it may be too late now anyway). Also consider destorying all non Greek buildings that you cannot upgrade - mainly temples as the cultural unrest they cause can make a well governed settlement want to revolt.

Edited: Why are your dates showing as SE when they should be BCE? Have you modded them? What else have you changed?

Thanks so much for your help! I have no idea why it is in SE instead of BCE. I didnt change anything.
I was looking around this forum and found out people saying that I shouldn't recruit any generals which may lead to CTD. Is that true?

P.S. If I can secure enough funds I will definitly go there (Suzuki). Agian, thanks for your help!

I recruit generals all the time - you need someone to lead your armies.

Also a general not only improves the performance of your armies (if used to rally units or encourage them before they break) but also makes them more expensive to bribe.

A diplomat in the army stack will also make the army more expensive to bribe. I'd also include a spy and assassin if you can - makes the general harder to assassinate then.

There are inherent problems with R:TW and you will get the occasional rogue CTD - just save often and frequent. I've had campaigns where even going back to an old save eventually leads to a CTD around the same time or a little later on.

Just enjoy the campaigns while you can.....

I presume S.E. stands for Seleucid Era (see the Wiki entry: here).

The dating is used for the Seleucids, Macedon and Parthia in RSII (of the ones I checked). However, it's not used for the Ptolemaics which is a bit strange as Ptolemy was one of the 'sucessors' to Alexander The Great (just as Seleucus is)....
