Civis
What setting to avoid with high cpu demand.
I know that Unit size and shadow will tax cpu, but all other setting will tax on graphic card.
what else tax on cpu?

I don't think it's really taxating for your CPU but AA is one of the heaviest settings there is for your FPS, together with shadows. Other things like textures seem to only affect your GPU if it has less than 1gb of Vram, although it can still happen with 1gb, but the FPS hit you get from textures is very minimal.

Well, I think its Shogun 2 engine limitation
Its can't take advantage of multi-threading or multi-cores CPU
Not matter what your settings on, when you zoom close up heavily battles, its will bog down eventually.
What can you do is upgrade new CPU, that's only solution.
Talk about GFX option that slow down overall performance, Its SSAO, Shadow, Texture quality and AA.
Its easy to make war with others, its never been easy when we need a peace.
My holy damn simple tactic; Strike First, Strike HARD and SHOW NO MERCY.

other settings related to CPU performance:
- unit size (obviously the fewer men are on the screen the less CPU load)
- unit detail (lowering to medium will remove dead bodies which can give a nice performance boost)
- blood effects
