    Default Which Party Icon Would Win Today?

    I have always been curious as to which U.S. party icon would win in a head to head if they ran against each other today. Here are some facts, and just facts about them. You either know who you would prefer or you don't. In the case that you don't, I ask that you either read up on their policies, or simply don't vote. As this is a poll to just see between the 2, there will be no abstain.

    and the only thing most remember about Reagan is him getting shot, but that's not the point.

    I took it on how the Parties view them today. The RNC just released a Ronald Reagan tribute at the convention, and Bill Clinton will be the head speaker at the DNC convention. The point is how they are viewed today by their parties and the voters of those parties.

    Maybe I was still too young to see the inherent appeal of Clinton; but when Newt likes the guy you know you got a man with moves like Jagger.

    If we were not factoring in the god complex then Reagan would have similar issues to Romney in getting the far-right excited about him. They'd vote for him simply because he wasn't Clinton. Again, a man who worked across party lines plenty of times.

    Lots of similarities to the present day situation...

    Reagan hands down, damn I miss Reagan.
    In the garb of old Gaul, with the fire of old Rome,
    From the heath-covered mountains of Scotia we come;
    Our loud-sounding pipe breathes the true martial strain,
    And our hearts still the old Scottish valour retain.

    Reagan, hands down. Clinton is indisputably the better leader, but Reagan has practically been given an apotheosis by the Republicans, whereas Clinton has been the victim of American tendency towards distraction in politics.

    JFK may be an icon, but he was only in office 3 years and his biggest victory on anything was Cuba, and it was barely a victory. He's more remembered on what he could have done, as opposed to what he did.

    JFK practically endorsed Nixon. Hardly a Democrat then, and no Democrat now. Strong conservative.

    Bill is a charming amateur.

    Reagan is the boss.
