    Oh, the burger and turtle
    Provide grounds most fertile
    For disappointment and a bore;

For a battle of the ages,
    Of passions and rages,
    We demand something more!

For a great clash of wits
We must find one who fits,
    This sadly unoccupied description,

    So most boldly does enter
    Another great contender
    With victory as his addiction!

    The challenge is proclaimed
    By the General most famed
For both to meet their fate -

    Their last hour has tolled,
    With General going for gold
    On the appointed date.

Swords of the Sea: 1066 has come and gone, the Danelaw torn down and a new kingdom built in the image of its Norman rulers. But with time, wounds heal and what is broken can be reforged. The Danes have returned with steel, and seek to reclaim what is theirs.
The Great Expedition: Pax Anglia, one of Earth's great empires, sprawling across the stars. On their newly colonised planet of Nova Sydney, adventure awaits on the savage frontier - Henry Boyce steps forward to lead an expedition to pierce the Bushlands' wild heart.
Winter War: Finland, 1939. The Soviet war machine has begun its indomitable advance from the east. Of all its neighbours, only Finland stands alone in defiance. Conscript Anton Bezrukov prepares for a quick victory, but the reality is far bloodier...

Well you got the trash part right. I don't see much challenge though.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
I am me. You are not me. You are you. If I was you, I wouldn't be me.
If you were me, I'd be sad.But I wouldn't then be me because you'd be me so you wouldn't be me because I wasn't me because you were me but you couldn't be because I'd be a different me. I'd rather be any kind of bird (apart from a goose) than be you because to be you I'd have to not be me which I couldn't do unless someone else was me but then they would be you aswell so there would still be no me. They would be you because I was you so to restore balance you would have to be me and them meaning all three of us would become one continously the same. That would be very bad.

That would imply General Retreat understands philosophical concepts such as honour. A brawl may be a more fitting title for such the possible future event I understand you to be imagining.

As far as my eyes can see there is only one worthy challenger - General Retreat! So how does a duel work? I am ready to commit any kind of mischief, only please bear in mind that my profession can be quite demanding at times. So if I have to be online at a certain time or do a lot of writing in a short time span, this would be difficult.

Both of you guys will either agree on a topic (or a picture) or let me or one of the other moderators decide (I think it will be better if you decided but if you cant its ok). Once that is decided you write your stories by a deadline (a week is usually the norm though it can be longer if something comes up) and both of you private message them to a moderator (me for example). I would then set up a thread in the Lounge where people can vote for the best story. The winner of course wins the duel and bragging rights.

So, is anyone looking for a duel? A challenge of their writing brilliance?

Tigellinus, you need look no further than the common mutt of the streets to find one worthy of challenging you.

    Deal.

While I don't particularly care about what we write about, I'll throw out Horsemen of the Apocalypse as an idea that might generate some interesting stories.

What shall we write about? As you are the senior member, I feel inclined to allow you your pick.

I really do not mind, let us both post ideas and see if we can agree on one? That way it is a mutual decision on a topic we're both interested in and can write about.

Y'all should write about the politics of Hell, featuring the horsemen of the apocalypse as the major players

Not entirely confident in my own personal skills on Japanese history. :p

If we wanted to do a smash-up we could do the horsemen of the apocalypse somehow invading Medieval Europe, or something suitably ridiculous. It's up to you, though.

I honestly have no knowledge of the Four Horsemen, or the Bible.

So, as you are unsure of your skills in Japanese History I am unsure about my skills writing of The Four Horsemen

Ah, well, if you'd like we could go for something medieval. I'm semi-confident at least in my Medieval stuff, and it isn't measuring historical authenticity necessarily either. :p
