I've heard about this in a previous thread though can't remember which one, I'm coming towards the end of my TO campaign and I'm currently making ground against the scots and the french though i don't wanna fight with the HRE who at the moment are neutral with me and at war with the french also. I actually want to form an alliance with them which i had at the beginning of the campaign but i lost it when attacking Norway who were allied to the HRE also, anyways i destroyed Norway and it's been over 100 years on but still can't get an alliance with them. Is there anyway around this? Remembering i'm playing the TO without the royal family submod so i dont have prinesses to make marriage alliances

You can't fix it. There are diplomacy cheats, but they only work via campaign script. Not through the console.

Try giving them a bunch of money before offering an alliance, maybe give them a disadvantageous province to them along with the alliance offer.

I think he means he actually can't offer them an alliance, as in the option is not available.
this normally only occurs when the faction is allied to a faction you are at war with (in ETW the button just used to be faded out, in M2TW it disappears)

In that case, I think Papa is right, you're screwed

So there is NO console command in the heavens i can use to fix this issue then??? I'd hate to slip into war against them cause i've been them tributes and other large sums of gold so they can stay as a threat to the french and right now Hungary has allied themselves with the french so they may be looking to reclaim some of their land from me

It was after I killed Norway that I came grovelling back to the HRE going "So... I killed your buddy. We still cool?"

just an update, even though i've probably wasted near 30000 florins on the HRE to keep them happy, they decide it's the best of their interests to ceasefire with the french and start attacking my regions in Hungary, taking ummm Eztergom (i think that how you spell it), i was able to hold them at Kassa seeing and defeating my first gothic Knight unit in SS. I've now conquered all of England after i killed their last King, an absolute bloody battle resulting in an average victory and am now directing all my armies there at the top of France and i'm sweeping through the top half of Germany. Payback.... is a xD
