Problem starting game on steam
Hi
I installed RS2 step by step following the video because I've got steam.
On the launcher i click steam yes and put in my name. Then I chose Roman campaign. When I click Edit RS 2 preferences it says "Unable to open file ...\Rome total war gold\preferences\preferences.txt"
I click OK and try to play rs2 anyway and when i click it it asks me if I've chosen a campaign, I say yes and then nothing happens. The launcher is still open but the game doesn't start. So i remembered i had RTR before and had to change launch options. So i change them according to the guide where it says you have to change it everytime you want to play a different camaping. so i change to the one with rome but still the same result with the launcher... What should I do?

Re: Problem starting game on steam
I have the same issue. After the initial install (copying the files into the steamapps folder), the launcher worked wonderfully, but did not gave me a choice to start the Roman campaign. So I backed out of the game, installed the 2.1a patch but then now the launcher doesn't work. I press play RSII, but nothing happens including all the other option buttons. I managed to get the game working using the steam launch option menu, but I would like some info on seeing if I can get the launcher to work properly, since its less of a hassle to use changing campaigns.
