    Default Kensai

Well I decided to make a kensai unit from descriptions of them from shogun 1, and let me tell you the units awesome. He will litteraly cut through a katana hero like a hot knife through butter, you can fire 3 volleys of arrows at him and he wont die you can fire a volley of matchlock fire at him he still wont die(though 2 volleys will kill him). Hes recruitable at the legendary sword school and cost alot 2000 koku and a 250 koku upkeep. To counter him use guns or a ton of bows trying to kill him in melee is hopeless.

Theres also a stronger shimzau version included.

To install just drop the file into your data folder and unzip.
    My mods
-Mod Leader for the Wheel Of Time This is not the beginning, but it is a beginning
-Mod Leader for Shogun 2: Foreign Invasion if you want a mod with alot of units this is for you, not only is there the 40 units CA made theres planned to be atleast 177 NEW units when its done.
-Modder in the World War I and Shogun II project. The only full scale mod for FOTS and it plays nothing like FOTS. FOTS may have Gatling guns, WW1&S2 has tekidanto samurai, SNLF, MGs, kisho snipers, assault infantry(shotguns) just to name a few.

I'd change the name to Kensei. Kensai means 賢才 man of ability, or 賢妻 housewife. 剣聖 Kensei means master swordsman, or literally 剣 sword 聖 saint/sage. I guess you could make 剣才 kensai to be swords master, but kensei,as sword saint sounds 1,000 times cooler, and its an actual word, Miyamoto Musashi was called a Kensei. I don't know if kensai is, but its not in my dictionary.
I think in Shogun Total War, they mistranslated when they wrote Kensai, and I think it was Kensei in the booklet or on the website or something but typed Kensai in game.

    Anyways, pics?

In the original Shogun 1 total war, it was written "kensai", so you are right. However, Some would romanize from 剣聖 as "kensei". Whichever is fine. It's not too big of a deal since both are romanized pronunciation of Japanese.

Oh, and btw, Musashi was an overrated man with high ego, and many Japanese know this.

I remember you saying you`d make this. I think the old timers and players of Shogun 1 might be interested in this character. I would keep the original name from the game because that`s what it was called. I personally didn`t like it in the original, but for old time`s sake I might take a look.

Everyone would romanize 剣聖 as kensei. Japanese is probably the easiest East Asian language to change into roman letters, the only difference between the two ways of writing Japanese into Latin letters are on how to write the long form vowels. i.e 東京 would be either Toukyou or Tōkyō. But in no world would 聖 be sai as it doesn't sound anything like it. Moreover kensei is both the romanization found in Wikipedia, with no mention of an alternative "kensai," and also in Tangorin. If you speak Japanese, or at least know kana, you understand why. My feeling is they either misspelled it out right and never noticed it, although I do believe it might have been kensei somewhere, either in the booklet or on the old official website. Or they misunderstood as "sai" can mean master. Yet they did say it meant Sword Saint, and again Kensei is an actual term.

As for "many Japanese" knowing this or that, I wont pretend I speak for Japan, but I would say he is still considered a great swordsman, surely nothing like an anime character which has raised the bar to impossible standards, but I can say he is respected still today, and that is book is still a top seller (and the various adaptations of it) are still top sellers. And I believe if you fight in over sixty duels and are not once defeated you get to have an ego, although I am not sure if he did or did not, I don't believe there is enough historical evidence for one to make that claim.
