    Default Siege of carthage video

    Hi there

In one of the reviews of Rome II, I read that there was a video of the gameplay of the siege of carthage that would be released to the general public soon.

I canīt seem to find it anywhere. Has anyone seen it or got a link to it?

    Regards

Soon means probably nearer to game release, about a month or two before.

Lets just make up information cause its fun. Soon means soon. You cannot predict what soon means but generally when someone says soon they don't mean a year from now...

As for the OP's question, I doubt we will be seeing that particular demo. I believe they will give us a more "advanced" trailer in a couple of months. If not, then more screenshots at least.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Personally I strongly believe the game will be launched at march or april. For starters, they would not announce a game 500-pus days before release. People would end up losing interest not to mention the financers. We have all seen what happened to games like WAR when they were announced too soon.

Secondly, if they have been working on the game since either Shogun 2 or Rise of the Samurai, then I can't see why the developement would take up to three years to complete with a 40% larger budget and team. According to CA, the game is not that different to previous ones, as was the case with Empire. It even utilizes the same engine, although heavily modified. It won't "revolutionize" TW like Empire did with naval battles, gunpowder weapons, huge map, revamped adminstration, revolutions etc. Besides, it has already a Steam page, a trailer, a moderate amount of info and even a few screenshots, even though they are "pre-alpha". (which means nothing since Shogun 2 had also pre-alpha material six months before release.) That seems quite much for a game which is supposed to be released at december 2013, possibly even 2014 if you believe that nonsense. If you just wanted to announce a game, how much an effort do you seriously have to make?

Thirdly, this whole announcement thing seems strangely vague for me. It almost looks like they have deliberately told some companies that it will be launched late 2013, some that the release date will be summer/autumn, and then simply 2013. My two cents/pennies/sestertiuses would be that they have confused people as to the true release date to avoid a catastrophe like Empire. If they can publish it at spring, it will seem natural. If not, they can always state they stated a "late 2013" release. Most likely they are trying to play safe with this one.

@Augustus Scipius i actually think that we're not going to see it until september/october atleast - although i could maybe see an alpha in april/may and beta in july/august(that is being optimistic though - i think there was a source where SEGA told it's investors that they were aiming for late 2013 or even early 2014, and i doubt they'll release it almost a year earlier. I think the reason they announced it so early is
    a. It's been a pretty long time since Shogun2(no, FotS doesn't really count) and everyone wanted to know what they were doing. Then again - it was kind of expected that it would be Rome2. Also it could be because the date they announced it was their 25th anniversary, i guess you could call it "timing" the release.
    b. Rome2 is by far their biggest game, i think they want the community and everyone to know it early. It takes a looong time to make games of this size.

If they release it early 2013 im going to be very very worried because it might just turn out to be an Empire 2.0 - looks good on paper, but is void of feeling and atmosphere and is riddled with bugs and poor gameplay in general.

Now i went way OT though, as for the video i don't think we are going to see any game footage until early 2013.
