Default generals betray if under 9 loyalty?????

So I have not got very far in any of my campaigns, not because I lose but because no matter what I do my generals betray me. It's the most frustrating thing ever. I give my general the whatever I can to make them more loyal, privy seal whatever I can get ahold of.

Most recently my full stack rebeled outside of rebel held toulouse. What on earth do I need to do to prevent this from happenning? The general had 9 loyalty for heavens sake... I have ben trying to figure out the traits and how to get the ones I want, I have saw the link to the trait guide but it makes absoltely no sense to me, as it doesn't tell you how to get the traits it just tells you what they are.

I am in need of info on how to prevent this from happenning, as it is making the game unplayable for me. Thanks guys. I play on VH/VH btw I don't know if that makes a difference.

There's two important factors that keep your generals from rebelling: General loyalty, and Faction leader authority. Check the authority stats of your faction leader, and if they're very low (0-2 fists) you can expect to have your generals rebel nearly always.

The best way to fix this, is to send your faction leader to deal with these rebels himself. Gaining victories should improve his authority.

You need to state which options you selected in your game, otherwise people have to guess the solution.

Have your generals end their turn in a settlement or fort. They will be much less likely to rebel. Apart from that, I presume you are playing with BGR IV and have already expanded your empire a bit. In that case you should conquer new regions only with war council members.

The forts idea is really cool, as i have literally never built one before, as i thought they were only a temporary structure. Are they permanent? And i am playing ss with grim reality iv (which i absolutely love btw).

They are permaneant as long as you keep a unit in them, if you leave it empty they dissapear.

Forgot to add that you can move units out of the fort and leave it ungarrisoned mid-turn with no problem, if you end the turn and leave the fort empty then it will dissapear.
