Default A weird problem I experienced

Hi guys, just posting this here in case it could eventually help other people. I recently started facing internet problems with slow internet speeds. I thought it to be viruses at first so I installed malware bites and ran a full scan and no viruses were found. I then ran ccleaner but no luck. So I decided to reinstall my OS. I reinstalled 3 times (with different versions of drivers) and no luck. I was almost having a nervous breakdown, hahahahahaha. I have a 10Mb internet speed but I was barely being able to browse through web pages, my download speed was like 10kb/s. After some outside of the box thinking I decided to do what I should have done first, I changed the slot of my wireless adapter and bang, my internet speeds were back to normal. In the end all I had was a faulty slot which caused me a ton of trouble and 2 days of headaches. I just thought it was weird that no report was being shown everytime I check for problems in the management tab of control panel. Everytime I checked I would have the "device working correctly" message which really misguided me. Just posting in case my experience can help other people.

That is an odd problem with an odd solution. You might want to monitor that board as it may be nearing the end of its life if you've lost one slot already.

But it really isn't odd that you wouldn't receive an error message about it. The OS just checks vital functionality. It's a quick call/response query just to see if the hardware responds and gives a full vitals check. This call is not diagnostic in any way and doesn't care about throughput issues - just that the hardware responded and indicates all is well. The old Command prompts are better at diagnosing this kind of problem. In any case good luck!

Thanks for the feedback. I think I will include that kind of routine from now on even if no problem is reported.
