    Default Crash on startup

Hey everyone, over the past two days i have been searching the forums for a fix for my crashing issue at the splash screen. The legal screen comes up, two minutes later, my cursor changes to the in game cursor followed by a crash. Sometimes, it will crash straight to desktop but recently (after updating bios) it doesn't kick me to desktop. Instead, it crashes in the background staying locked on the legal screen with a "Shogun 2 has stopped working" message after I Ctrl alt delete. As i said bios is up to date, Incredibar is uninstalled, i have verified the cache several times, uninstalled, re-installed, tried deleting certain files people have suggested, and a few other things that i can't recall right now. I am running on windows vista 64 bit, with 8GB of RAM, and an AMD RADEON R6670 2GB. I should also mention I just bought this from Steam a few days ago and haven't seen anything past the splash screen. I am out of options as ever fix I have tried has been a flop. Any help would be greatly appreciated
    Thank you in advance,
    Sam

i used to get the same problem but i find out it was because i had to little ram memory so i deleted a bunch of useless crap and games i dont play and only kept shogun 2 and napoleon as those are the ones im playing right now and it hasn't happened since then so have you tried deleting your memory a bit??? though i only have 3 gigs but you have 8 though i dont think it should be a problem but you can still try other than this i dont know

Thanks for the reply, i doubt it's an issue but i'm pretty desperate at this point. I'll get rid of a few games and post back in a few.

Okay, I uninstalled Crysis, Witcher 2, and Just Cause 2, all to no avail, still crashing.

I also forgot to mention all my drivers are up to date including RealTek audio

Delete the scripts folder and verify the game cache.

Hi I am also having problems with starting the game. It gets stuck on the splash screen, game cursor appears and then nothing.

Deleted scripts folder in The Creative Assembly and successfully verified, still experiencing crash.

Delete the scripts folder and verify the game cache. The old card could still be in there.

It can take over 20 minutes the first time it starts up since they added some goodies dealing with soft shadows and such. What you take as not working may actually the game doing calcilations in ram.

i have heard about this and had it sit for awhile in the past. the problem is a crash error comes up in the background that's view-able if i alt tab or control-alt-delete, however i will try this.

If the crash message is viewable, post it, even in a pic. They hold valuable info.

had it sit for just under an hour, still didn't work. as for the crash message, there is none. All i cat is Shogun 2 has stopped working and that windows will check for a solution to the problem and notify me if one is found. Thanks for your constant advice by the way, i really hope i can get this working.
