    Default Need a new rig

Why are you upgrading? The problems from here have started again and I've had enough.

    Budget: $950 CAD

    Location: Calgary, Canada

Can you build this computer yourself, or do you need to buy prebuilt? Yes I can, but I'd prefer not to as I don't have a lot of time right now. I've factored in having the machine assembled in my budget already so the full $950 is usable.

    Current Specs:

Case: Cool Master Elite 371 Chassis
    PSU: OCZ 600W ModXStream-Pro
    Mobo: Gigabyte GA-EP43-UD3L
    GPU: EVGA nVidia 9800GT 512MB
    RAM: 4G OCZ PC6400 RAM (2 x 2G) + 4G Kensington KVR800D2N6 (2 x 2G)
HD: Seagate Barracude 1T 7200RPM SATA
    + Optical Drive

As I'm looking to get it pre-assembled (with custom parts) I'd prefer not to use any of my old parts. The only one I'd think might be useable is the hard drive anyways.

    Resolution: 1280x1020 on two monitors

Stores: www.memoryexpress.com, newegg.ca (possible but not as good as newegg.com), there are likely others I don't know

Peripherals: If budget allows new mouse

    Motherboard - ASUS P8Z77-V $155
    CPU - Intel Core i5 3570K 3.4ghz QuadCore $220
    RAM - 8 GB G.SKILL DDR3 $40
    GPU - XFX Radeon HD 7870 2GB $244
    HDD - Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM $99
    PSU - Corsair TX650 V2 650W ATX $90
    Case - Coolermaster Haf 912 $60
    Cooler - Coolermaster Hyper 212 $30

Total cost = 937.87 + $30 shipping. So $968.32. You could drop the cooler and you'd be just under budget, or you could get a smaller HD. You also might be able to find a better deal on the RAM. What you want is 8gb of DDR3, it's getting late and I need some sleep so I don't have time to sort through their site looking for the best 2x4gb deal since their sorting options are terrible. Where you're at budget wise is the sweet spot for price for performance. All the parts in this range are just about the most bang for your buck you're gonna get, and luckily AMD just dropped their mid tier GPU's by about 10% in price, so you'll get an even better deal. This PC will max any game on the market at your res, and at 1200p you're looking at:

(Arkham City should be slightly worse than Unreal 3 performance with the 7870, so games like Mass Effect will run a little better.)

At the resolution you're playing at, every one of those games (except Shogun 2 because of the melee bottleneck) will net you close to 100 FPS.

As for NCIX.com itself, other forum members have used it and their PC assembly service and swear by it.

I am one of those "other forum members" who swear by NCIX's assembly service. (Also, shout-out to another Albertan!) - they'll assemble and test the rig for ...$50 if I remember correctly.
Also, shipping was awesome - they shipped from Vancouver to my door (near border between Alberta/Saskatchewan) in about 1 day.

go with NCIX then their $50 build it for you service is the cheapest youll find anywhere and saves you the trouble also worth noting memory express and ncix are the same company if i remember right, just like CompUSA and Tiger Direct are the same company.

Mobo saves you a few bucks compared to the asus board
