You dissaprove? It symbolizes the bronies struggle against endless haters, mindless and innumerable and all alike! It also stands for quality in animated stuff, its rare to find that now ( reference to the origins of FIM fanbase outbreak too if ur beread )

on forts... with no sieges it can be a pain but i prefer forting to control situations than always marching in the open. If we set the rules to 4 units you MUST respect this

3 units still cost less than 4, regardless if you could fill it with units you still have to pay for in any case.
Those units could now be somewhere where they prevent you from doing stuff that you would be able to do otherwise. As you cant know its hard to rule on these things so its much better to hardline it. Not to mention many forts wont be manned if u have to keep 4 units in em.

So many uncertainties... must be avoided!

The whole point of strategy is to delay your enemy. That's why these rules don't make sense.

They do, it's unrealistic to block an army of say 5000 men with a fort filled with 10 militia guys.

Forts are totally imba and should be banned and I despise them and whatever etc etc...

    Yep

A hotseat without forts would be quite something, wouldn't it?
"For myself, I would see the White Tree in flower again in the courts of the kings, and the Silver Crown return, and Minas Tirith in peace: Minas Anor again as of old, full of light, high and fair, beautiful as a queen among other queens; not as a mistress of many slaves, nay, not even a kind mistress of willing slaves. War must be, while we defend our lives against a destroyer who would devour all; but I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend: the city of the Men of Númenor, and I would have her loved for her memory, her ancientry, her beauty, and her present wisdom. Not feared, save as men may fear the dignity of a man, old and wise."

I know you are a King's man, Lord Arryn, but you are the wrong King's man. Maybe your dead men will agree?

Both defeated Arryn armies can't move next turn.

Tyrell. Besides it's still pretty boring you are all coming for me, come on, someone change sides, there's trasure in the Crownlands as well, and greater than in the war struck Riverlands.

A Hotseat without forts would be pretty boring imho, because it's the only way a weak faction with no coasts/ships can stand against a stronger faction, really.

    Yeah...

Nope... I like my cloak as it is, sorry. Not turning it any time soon.

I'll see your head rest atop a pike, Great Bastard

Regarding forts... yep, that's true. Doesn't mean I can't despise them, of course

That's what the Romans did with the barbarians. 3000 limitanei vs a whole kingdom of barbarians.

Or a limit of 1 fort per region with 10 men per fort.

"Me? Ruin? I'm not the ruiner, I'm the ruinee! Or is it ruinness? Ruinette?"
"She's ahead of the litter all right. The pick of the litter. The cat's pajamas. Oh wait. Why would Applejack take some poor kitty's pj's? That's not very sporting of her."
"More balloons! No, that's too many balloons. More candy! No, less candy. Ooh! I know! Streamers!"
"Oh my gosh. Hold on to your hooves – I am just about to be brilliant!"

It is not really stopping them but slowing them down and that is exactly the same thing it did for the late Roman Empire. The limitanei slowed down the invaders giving the true field armies a chance to gather and respond.

Exactly. The whole point is to delay them.

And here we delay them with forts

its the only real way to delay unless you want to pointlessly place units spread in the way.
skirmishing can be done on the battlefield only and i find it proper.

Forts are brought down by bribes and sieges, in this mod there are no sieges and that makes it interesting indeed!

What do you mean by no sieges?

pardon, no siege units but siege engines

Nor do we have spies to open gates.
Edit: Not uncommon to take holdings by surprise, a simple ram and ladders are quick things to create if not already carried.
if forts however have a significant garrison (especially stone forts) you would be forced to deal with them and thus lose time.

    Two hordes of tyrell approaches...

I threw a party at old oak, bringing happiness and joy then another glorious feast at cider hall... but now you come to ruin it all?

This is the gratitude i get!? The true dragon appreciate me at least... Furthermore nearly all the wastelands have joined me in delight!
Tell me this is only Tyrell, that Targaryen and Arryn still like me?
