Default Games in Rome II ?

The games : gladiators , horse races become very important , for those whom remenber a basic game from 1990 : CENTURION , this game had a part wich the player could be and play in the games , for gladiator or horse !

My question is , will ROME II include the GAMES ???? i think this could be superb add to the game :

    -Extra/loss money for the player

    -Way to content citizens

    -Increase the glory of rome
    etc etc etc

Well, the original Rome had the ability to build arenas and conduct games, which decreased the amount of money you made per turn from that city, but increased happiness. You weren't able to watch or take part in the games, but unless CA wants to include a little movie with "First Gladiatorial Combat" or something like that, I don't think that they should.
If you rep me, leave your name. I'll look more kindly on your future transgressions.

Ahh CENTURION that brings back memories, it would be great if something like this was included.

I think they will be in the game somehow, but i would want them to work abit differently:

When you build an arena, it costs you abit every turn but it doesn't provide that much of a happiness increase. However, if hits the fan and riots are starting you could order a "year of games" or something similar, which would massively increase happiness but cost a huge amount of money - essentially turning arenas into a "Panic" button.

if they make it moddable it can be

I'd prefer CA to simply focus their resources on AI, campaign map depth and mod tools. Mini games are not necessary, and are counter intuitive if those first three things are neglected. Less third person shooting, more improvements to what we already have.

Yeah and while we're at it - why don't let us have some kind of frogger game where we would
have to cross the racing track with a joystic, only being able to move left/right and forward
and if we get overrun by a chariot it'll say game over scrolling from right to left.

Are we still talking about the same game - R2TW?

I mean be serious guys - not meant only to you Andy but to everybody else trying to turn this
    game into something ridiculous.

What about improving the game by making those things that have already been there into
games like e.g. the old C64 titles Beach Head 1 and Beach Head 2.

I want a Total War game and i want them to work on improving all the stuff that didn't work
out like it could have in previous titles. If i count together all of these ideas seen yet on this
forum i'm pretty sure i'll have to find a new favourite series instead of TW or to find another
    hobby like

Here here! This isnt a console game but a PC game concerned with the overall strategy of running the empire

lol - sorry but there was a misunderstanding mate.

This was actually meant to be ironic.

After rereading my own post now i have absolutely no clue how
i came to this sentence (maybe by deleting a line too much or so).

What about improving the game by making those things that have already been there into
games like e.g. the old C64 titles Beach Head 1 and Beach Head 2.
If i remember correctly the sentence was meant to be:

What about improving the game by making those things that have already been there and not
    try to turn it
into games like e.g. the old C64 titles Beach Head 1 and Beach Head 2.
But i assure you this was meant to not turn this game into an arcade game.

I would just like to add that they could maybe add races held in hippodromes as well as the gladiatorial games from Rome I.

But not playable, just as a movie information.

They should rather have the city zoom in feature make a comeback in rome 2, you should be able to spectate the games taking place there and much more, that would be amazing.

I like this idea even better, a living breathing City, games , races and markets

It would be awesome, but please accurate ones, not like in movies like gladiator. Games weren't that bloody mess we use to see in movies, there were rules and precises classes of gladiators.

Gladiator was OK, it's not a bloody mess like now Spartacus and sons.

sorry to say that, but absolutly not: gladiator movie doesn't respect historical accuracy: we don't see referies, classes of gladiators, the fights are just slaughters without rules at all, weapons and armours are not the good ones at all, in one scene, you can see a viking helmet.
So, no, the gladiatorial games didn't look like this.
    this is more true:

I would love games to be in ROME2. The Senate or Emperor could send people who displeased them to the Arena as entertainment for the mob.
Gladiators would be the pin up boys of Rome as they were in history.
Any Roman who wanted political advancement and had the cash would sponser a day of games in the arena and maybe would invest in a good gladitorial school.
Chariot racing was huge in the Roman Empire, Wars were nearly fought over teams.
Perhaps if CA had the resources but not the time they could develop a later add on to fully exploit the entertainment of the Arena and all that went with it.

    sponsered by the noble Prisca

I mean, they are CA and I think that they can do both.

It all just depends on that if they want to do it or not.

CA already introduced 3rd person shooting in Fall of the Samurai. This isn't some kind of ridiculous and unprecedented suggestion. The question is whether or not it should be done. I say no, of course not.

As said, there will probably be a building that enhances public order, prestige, etc.. I doubt you will be able to play in the games yourself (like some Mount and Blade Tournament?), nor do I want that implemented. I doubt it ever will be anyway.
