    Default Infantry Wedge Formation

With the introduction of the new "Mass" system in R2TW, where "heavier troops can push back lighter ones" I think now is the time to introduce a Wedge formation for infantry in the game.

Vote and let CA hear your opinion.

    I agree with this idea.

Mass isn't new, what would be new is if mass AND depth mattered. Otherwise heavy infantry or cavalry in a long line can still push back a lighter formation 5 ranks deep which might not be very accurate though hopefully at least 2 rank deep heavy infantry might be more of a stalemate for any pushing.

    Yes, you're right.
Here is the quote from CA:

    Q. Will formation and mass matter more in Rome II?

    A. We are implementing new systems that will give more importance to the depth, mass and formation of units so you will see a heavy unit pushing a lighter one back in combat for example.

Mass was in the original Rome; it's the thing that affects how devastating a charge is, or how quickly a unit pushes back another. For example, elephants have very high mass. One can change the mass of units in descr_units.txt (I think that's it, haven't modded RTW for ages!)

I voted yes. Historical example? Study the battle of Watling Street.
