Default Is it neccessary to get Rome out of Program Files?

Back when I got this game and I was a modding dunce, I put the game in program files like it told me to and derped along the way. I briefly checked some mods out, tried to download one, and then when I did some troubleshooting, turns out that particular one required that it not be in program files. Is that the case for this one? I lost my CD key, so I'm reluctant to reinstall it (Should be in my registry somewhere...)

If you mean the mod it actually depends on where your original instalation of Rome Total War is.

By defaul it's usually C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome Total War or C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome Total War or from Steam C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rome Total War Gold

However you can always change the default installation of your game.

Mine are : D:\Game Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rome Total War Gold and D:\Game Files (x86)\SEGA\Medieval II Total War

So your mod should always point out where your original game is installed.

I mean, if I installed RTW into program files, do I have to reinstall RTW not in program files to make this mod work?

It shouldn't matter if it is program files. At least, I have it there, and it hasn't given any problems. But if it does give problems, just turn off UAC (at least when you install it).
