I like the concept of them, but I agree with Soul, it just makes BF too poor. If the game had better mechanics for coordinating allies and vassals, it would work, but sadly I think you have to lose that detail to make up for the limitations of the engine. Family trees and named characters go some way to redressing this though.

Right then! I've taken the minor houses and merged them back into Blackfyre HOWEVER I will leave an alternate descr_strat in for those that would like to play as Yronwood as they are definitely the only faction that wouldn't be awkward to play. (Yronwood units will be usable by Blackfyre and AOR).

To spoil a later suprise somewhat, I've been adding in new units to the factions yet now I'm stumped for ideas. I'll list the ones I've added so far but I'm gonna need some new ideas from you, the community.

So far we have:
All the scottish highland units - Typical Freefolk
Dismounted Druchina - The men of Thenn
Wardogs - Wargs/Skinchangers (Not added in yet but I want to)
Two-Handed swords - Horn Hill Vanguard
Varangian Guard - Dreadfort Cleavers (Got to ask permission to use these but I will in time, still yet to implement them, want to)
Noble Spearmen - Nightsong Spearmen
Border Horse - Blackhaven Raiders
Mounted/Dismounted Longbowmen - Raven's Teeth
Pike Militia (Armoured and not so much) - Hayford Pikemen

Also, on a matter of lore. I presume Daemon would've had a kingsguard of sorts, but would it be a bit much of me to presume by naming them the Dragonguard as a sort of reflection of what Renly did with his Rainbowguard. I had in mind that Fireball would be Lord Commander with some members being Byren Flowers, Redtusk and Gareth the Grey. So yeah, again feedback on that part would be good

Cool! Still I think you should add the Reynes and Yronwoods as factions and give House Blackfyre part of the Riverlands.

Dragonguard is an awesome idea Eoghan !
But if you'll do Daemon's Kingsguard then it would be nice to see Daeron's Kingsguard as well.

This submod is a pretty nice example to follow with Kingsguards in my opinion.It adds Kingsguard and Rainbowguard as generals for 0.53.

Yronwood could work as its own faction if it had a few more settlements. If you asked Badger to borrow his declare system, you could make it so each Lord except Martell starts neutral, probably declares for Targaryen, but may declare for Blackfyre. I did this on my copy of this mod. However, Martell should always start allied to Targaryen due to the marital alliances with them. As Martell should always aid Targaryen, a strong Yronwood could make the Dornish front interesting.

As things stand, I think each Lord needs a strong rebellion to content with. At the moment they can crush the one or two Blackfyre settlements in their area and then march on Daemon.

Dorne was not part of the realm at this point, unless I am mistaken. It joined the "Seven Kingdoms" after the rebellion. Yronwood always opposed Martell. I think they aided Blackfyre in an attempt to wrest control of Dorne from Martell, who at this point were natural allies of Targaryen. Could be worth making a nice separate little theatre like KoRaH, or FaB. A rich Yronwood faction with stacks to counter the Martell armies and resources could be fun.

The unknown spaces I am currently unsure of who to place in those spots. Daeron's empty spot would later be filled later in by Rolland Darklyn but he dies an hour after fulfilling the spot, being the youngest member before Jaime Lannister joins nearly 100 years later. But to start off the mod, I don't know whether that spot should be filled or not.

Also all the places indicated with a * means that there is no concrete evidence that what I've said about them is true, for instance Gareth the Grey being called such due to greyscale or the two kingsguard members actually being enlisted at that period of time but that is how I have chosen to interpret things.

I welcome any suggestions for further members of both guard.


And @gangstamori regarding the yronwoods
I have said that there'll be an alternate descr_strat for those who wish to play/include the Yronwood faction in the game but the descr_strat in use currently has merged the faction in with Blackfyre meaning that their units are recruitable by Blackfyre in that region and their settlements and generals are essentialy the same just under control of Blackfyre. I'm not especially good at recognising faults in balancing so until I release the next version, I'm changing stuff according to the feedback given from everyone here and my occasional play test.

If you won't be able to think of anyone canon (historically correct) knight to Daemon, then you could implement some random trueblood Reyne(other than Robb).

Although I'm sure there are many knights to take in.That's just the idea cause I'm not exacly an expert of Blackfyre Rebellion period, I know only of basic events.
