Default Can I discover America earlier?

    Hey guys,

I'd love to discover and settle America far eralier in the game, best on from turn 1.

Is there any way in SS 6.4., maybe by changing some data, to trigger the event in the first turns?

Facing the Aztec in the first turns would be nice, usually you can settle in America when you've won or lost anyway...

    Thanks!

Stainless Steel does not have the Americas. If the Americas are very important to you, you might want to look at a different mod like KGCM or Americas Expanded.

Yeah, it also was a hit for me, I really love Native Americans and was disappointed with the vanilla kingdoms campaign. I mean, the most glaring flaw, Hernan Cortez with Chilvary what the .

But no, real men go diplomacy with the aztecs, and sell them the settlements that make frontier with your enemy. Then they watch the Aztecs wrecking havoc. In Europe.

I brought up a similar point about it being weird that Crusades give you chivalry rather than dread, and I think I got a decent answer. It's going from an ignorant medieval perspective where it is seen as chivalrous to murder or forcibly convert people of a different religion. In that sense, maybe Hernan Cortez was considered chivalrous by Europeans at his time? I don't know.

Cortez took advantage of the Aztecs seeing him as a god, threw diseased cows with a catapult to the enemy walls, sacked, killed everyone who opposed him and enslaved everyone who didn't, had an army formed on 99% by pagans as bad as the ones he fought, then backstabbed his allies still weak from helping him in the war agaisnt the Aztecs. For starters. I think the game could give Dread or bad reputation for many of those things. I see him closer to Genghis Khan than to Saladino, by far.

Not to mention, he actually has High Chilvary before doing any of those things.

He was also extremely lucky, but that's another story. For "national" heroes I much prefer El Cid, Roger de Flor, Roger de Lauria, Blas de Lezo, Juan Puyol Garcia, Pelayo, etc.

For all I know it could be some 6.0-2 The wiki says something about "in Stainless Steel, conquering the Aztecs is now much harder"

If I remember well the new map was added in 5.0 I think that the last time we had the Americas was in 4.x. ,if someone still has 4.x then they can play SS with the Americas.

I think America was removed due to the fact that the Atlantic needs too much space of the campaign map. Of course America also does, and removing both they got much more space to do a wider and more detailed campaign map.
"Pompeius, after having finished the war against Mithridates, when he went to call at the house of Poseidonios, the famous teacher of philosophy, forbade the lictor to knock at the door, as was the usual custom, and he, to whom both the eastern and the western world had yielded submission, ordered the fasces to be lowered before the door of science."

Having the Americas in took up valuable region, faction, and unit slots. It just made much more sense to cut it out, recenter the map, and reallocate those regions to Europe.
