    Against

    Obama
: Against, in time, people will see him worse than Nixon and Wilson. Also doesn't help that he's a socialist.

    War in Iraq:
    For

    UN:
Really is useless, I haven't seen them do anything much of value.

    American Foreign Policy:
We need to stay out of other people's business, of course, there are exceptions.

Default Re: The Political Profile Thread

I was looking for my profile the other day and it seems to have been deleted. So I have to re-post it here.

    DOB: October, 1995

Country of Residence: United States of America

    Nationality: American

Political Compass: Right 3.88, Down 0.15

Where do you put yourself on the Political Spectrum: Middle of Quadrant 4 (Right-Libertarian)

Do you identify yourself with a certain political grouping: Libertarian

    Religion: Nondenominational Christian

    Political Stances

Gun Control: The Constitution gives us the right to bear ‘the arms of the day.’ Be this Sword, Guns, Fighter Jets, or Laser Rifles. We have a right to defend ourselves from internal and external oppressors. We need to also get rid of gun-free zones, they’re an invitation to criminals, who if we ban guns won’t care and shoot people anyways.

Abortion: Against, except when the Mother’s life is threatened. Then you have a double coincidence of wrongs and you have to kill one or both, and killing one is the lesser evil.

Gay Marriage: Against, if you took the tax break and legal rights out of marriage they wouldn’t want to get married anymore. Marriage is a statement to the community that a male and a female is going to have and raise a family.

Gay Adoption: Depends, if being Gay is proven to be a genetic defect I see no problem.

Marijuana: Against, of all places Colorado was the one to prove it THC was addictive and that it actually kills brain cells. Is it worse than alcohol? Not necessarily. Eating too much is bad for you, so are many other things. I just don't think it should be legal.

Death Penalty: For. Some people just need to be shot.

Universal Healthcare: No, I’m not paying every month for someone else for something I may only need once every few years.

Creationism: Humanity could not understand the science behind Creation, so came up with their own solution. It is a theory and can be disproven, just like Science. But it should not be taught unless we teach all of the creation stories from every religion.

Religion in Government: Never ever ever. We’ll end up like the Papal State or the Middle East.

Immigration: We need a policy where it's easy to do it legally and difficult to do it illegally.

Republican vs. Democrat: Both are bad, the US was never supposed to have a 2-party system. We need to make it easier for third parties to have a say (e.g. Libertarian, etc).

    Ideaologies

Nazism/Fascism: Racism and Socialism hidden behind a pretty picture.

Communism: A good idea on paper but humans are born corrupt. It will never work.

Racism: Very bad, people overuse the term though.
Anti-Semitism: The Jews have had to put up with a lot of . Cut them some slack for once.

Nationalism: Racism in a different form. People need to be like the US where we’re all Americans, not Germans or Asians or Mexicans or etc. Culture is still important though.

    Economics

Gold Standard: We need this to stop the Economic downturns from Fiat Money.

Protectionism vs. Free Trade: Free Trade

Capitalism vs. Socialism: Capitalism, the Columbia Experiment has already been implemented though. The US is beyond saving.

    Foreign Affairs

UN: An excellent idea but fails to get done. Has also been forcing a more socialist ideaology over the past few decades on capitalist countries.

EU: An economic disaster waiting to happen.

NATO: A mutual defense pact, useful.

US Foreign Policy: Need to get our own together first, and quit giving out money to governments that will just waste it.

Superpowers: USA, USSR, and Roman Empire were the only 3 superpowers to have ever existed. All of them are gone and China is moving to fill the gap.

    Countries:

China and India: On the verge of becoming industrial superpowers.

Israel vs Palestine: Palestine was a Roman province, they have no right to a nation. Israel actually existed.

North vs South Korea: North Korea is pathetic but amusing. South Korea FTW.

Russia: Irrelevant, they can’t even locate half of their Nukes.

Iran/Middle East: Like the Persian Empire, waiting to invade Europe and force their ideaology.

Greece, Spain, and Italy: Need to get their together, and cut the Social programs.

    The Rest of Europe: Socialist

    Other

Political Heros: Abraham Lincoln, Adam Smith, John F. Kennedy, Newt Gingrich, Flavius Aetius

Political Enemies: Barrack Obama, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Obvious ones (Hitler, Stalin, etc)

Favorite Political Entity: Roman Empire, longest lasting continuous political entity in existence (753BC - 1453 AD). One could make an argument for China, but they broke apart consistently and did not have a continuous government. Therefore the Roman Empire was statistically the most successful government ever created.

Kirk or Picard: Picard was cool but a pansy. Kirk shot things.

Imperial vs. Stormcloak: Long live the Empire!!!

    Country of Residence: United States
    Nationality: German/Polish
Where do you put yourself on the political spectrum: Right
Do you indentify yourself with a certain political grouping (socialist, neocon, etc): Conservative
Do you indentify yourself with a certain political party: No.
    Religion: Christian
Abortion: Against except in cases like rape/incest, etc.
    War in Iraq: Opposed
    Marijuana: Keep it Illegal
Firearms: A free society has the right to bear arms. However, keep weapons out of the hands of the mentally unstable if possible without violating the freedoms of responsible gun owners.
    Gay Marriage: Don't care.
Gay adoption: Probably against. No strong feelings on the matter though
Religion in schools: Private schools have every right to teach their students whatever they want. Public schools should remain unbiased, so it would be generally better to keep religion out of public schools. Perhaps have elective classes focusing on religious teachings should the students choose.
Death penalty: For, but only if the evidence is completely undeniable. Death penalty is better alternative than having tax dollars pay for the food and housing of criminals for the rest of their lives. Death penalty should only apply to anyone who rapes or murders, there is no need and will never be a need for those individuals in society, nor do we need them sucking in tax dollars by having to imprison them.
USA: We need to stand up for the constitution.
EU: Low birth rates = extinction.
    China: Not a threat.
India: Too many population, ethnic, and pollution problems to be a significant world player.
    Spain: Economic Crisis
    UK: Declining society.
France: Most promising of European nations. They have potential. Needs more immigration restrictions.
Germany: Good country. They need to improve birthrate though or their screwed.
Ireland: Has potential. Good birth rates.
Italy: Big mess. Improve birth rates, improve economy, and they'll be fine.

Do you identify yourself with a certain political party: Member of the Socialist Party (England and Wales)
    Religion: Atheist

Abortion: Should be legal in all instances except where the foetus is viable without the mother.
    War in Iraq: Against.
Marijuana: Conflicted, I don't like it and would prefer a society without it but that's not a good reason for having it as a crime...but I still don't want it to be legal. I pretty much stay out of those discussions in all instances as a result.
Firearms: Depends on the existing political situation. I prefer a society without them in the final analysis.
    Gay marriage: Support
    Gay adoption: Support
Religion in schools: Educating children about religion and giving them an understanding of them for historical, cultural and literary reasons is important. Religion itself in schools is abhorrent in all instances and all schools.
Death penalty: Against in all circumstances for all crimes in a stable political environment.

Marijuana: Indifferent. As long as nobody blows puffs of smoke in my face, I'm not coming after them with a long sword.
    Firearms: Over my dead body.

    Country of Origin: United Kingdom
    Nationality: British
    Political Orientation: Undecided
Religion: When I was a child, neither the Bible nor the Quran nor the Greek Pantheon was amongst the other tales of children's fiction which my parents read to me. Therefore I do not believe. I definitely believe in this ring with the power of invisibility, I read that in a book...
    Abortion: In favour.
Gay Marriage: I really don't care, why not? Regardless Politicians should spend less time arranging it and more time fixing the country.
    Gay Adoption: See above.
Education: Politicians frequently try to instil their own agenda into our education, they'll make sure that our children learn about famous modern politicians in History. So teachers devote precious minutes to some silly game to "teach" these ideas, the kids will have forgotten it by tomorrow, but the teachers have done what politicians expect of them. So yeah, Education should be free, but then those in power need to leave the rest alone to people who understand teaching.
Cannabis: BAN IT, BAN ALCOHOL TOO, IT WORKED FOR AMERICA! Seriously, legalise it, tax it, profit.
Immigration: Evidently needs to be restricted due to overpopulation but not entirely, but the EU needs to stop deciding things for us.
Firearms: Works fine as is: heavy restrictions.
    Healthcare: Free for all citizens.
    Euthanasia: In favour.
    Death Penalty: Opposed.
    Scottish Independence: Opposed.
EU: Has some economic benefits, but the currency has no place in Britain, nor do the ideas they try to implement over us.

    Country of Residence: Finland
Nationality: Finnish-Swedish (as in me and my whole family live in Finland, but we speak Swedish)
Where do you put yourself on the political spectrum: Center, not leaning either way.
    Religion: Atheist
    Abortion: For.
Marijuana: I'd rather see it legal and taxed than illegal.
Firearms: I don't have anything against guns in general, but I don't think restrictions should be greater.

Gay adoption: I don't really care to be honest, why not let them do it.
Religion in schools: An atheist, or truly unbiased teacher should take care of theology in schools, and no sort of preaching should ever be allowed. Teaching sciences can't be harmed because of someone's religion.
    Death penalty: Undecided.

Of these facts there cannot be any shadow of doubt: for instance, that civil society was renovated in every part by Christian institutions; that in the strength of that renewal the human race was lifted up to better things-nay, that it was brought back from death to life, and to so excellent a life that nothing more perfect had been known before, or will come to be known in the ages that have yet to be. - Pope Leo XIII

Syrian Civil War: I fully support Assad, he is a great man, may he crush all the rebel dogs.

    Economic Left/Right: 0.50
    Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.69

Nationality: Cuban-American (naturalized first generation immigrant)

Where do you put yourself on the political spectrum: Centre-left

Do you identify yourself with a certain political grouping: Social liberalism, Progressivism, Third Way, Centrism, equality of opportunity (not outcome) egalitarianism

Do you identify yourself with a certain political party: (US) Democratic Party, Independent, Green Party

Economy & property: Free-trade market, limited protectionism, anti-monopoly regulation, environmental regulation, higher respect for private property, mutually agreeable eminent domain only

    Religion: pro-theism atheist

Abortion: Legal in the first trimester, afterwards only under extreme circumstances.

Marijuana: Legalize recreational for adults over 21. medicinal as prescribed by a doctor or under parent supervision. needs to be downgraded from Schedule I immediately and more extensive studies done on it

Firearms: Legal, regulated better by state and federal government, "assault weapon law" should be reinstated, all states should require permits and registration as well as background and mental health checks (can be applied retroactively or not)

    LGBT marriage & adoption: Legal

Religion in schools: Should any religion/culture be taught in public schools, the focus should be on all major religions, as a way to foster multiculturalism-friendly theism-friendly generations who are world-savvy and mindful of varying cultures and their norms, a new generation of diplomats. separation of church and state should be encouraged, political theism of any kind should be discouraged

Death penalty: Against. rehabilitation should be getting a bigger focus, and it should be approached in a manner that does not burden the tax rates or public safety and always remains mindful of legal justice.

    Iraq War: Against

"War on Terror" / Afghanistan / Drone programs: For

Palestine / Israel: Two-state solution. the current problems: (1)very active jihadist terror movement in Palestine firmly acting as half of a state, (2) far-right ultranationalist fundamentalist influence in the Israeli Knesset and the revisionist idea of Greater Israel along with careless settlement; neither type wish to share the region with the other and will be eternally at odds with each other until new generations manage to shake off the fundamentalist hate and accept their differences, in addition to promoting more secular forms of government where either kind is accepted into each other's states. Gaza is an absolute failure on behalf of all involved, but especially jihadists being funded by several Islamic institutions from many Arab countries. Israel is being forced into a position where it can either spend a disproportionately huge amount of money on its own security, or it generates positive propaganda for Hamas by defending itself against an enemy that willfully fires from densely populated civilian areas towards densely populated civilian areas and even hits itself.

Funding: Definitely need to see a decrease in the increasing military spending rate (and tell all of the NATO members to increase theirs), especially in the R&D departments that don't have to do with drones and unmanned technology. Patrol officers need a revolutionary non-lethal weapon that is more reliable than tazers/paintballs, as well as a minor reformation of police departments and academies everywhere, with higher standards and training that would hopefully produce a more professional police force with unseen before levels of community relations.
More focus on the big 3: Education, Healthcare, Social Welfare. i sympathize with the republican dislike for welfare programs because there is not enough being done to eliminate rampant fraud that plagues it, but at the core i do believe people that are honestly seeking work should be given federal help, we just need better policies and systems in place to cut down on abuse and what you're able to do with the money or what you can purchase.
