Where do you put yourself on the political spectrum: Left

Do you identify yourself with a certain political grouping (socialist, neocon, etc): Social Liberalism

Do you identify yourself with a certain political party: No

    Religion: Atheist

Abortion: Its the woman's choice, but only up to a certain point in pregnancy.

War in Iraq: While I'm not against the toppling of totalitarianism in theory, this kind of neo-conservative/'muscular liberal' foreign policy is the main reason this war was fought in the first place. In the words of John Cleese 'a senseless waste of human life'.

Marijuana: For. Its less damaging and addictive than alcohol or pure tobacco, and gives a much nicer hit than any of them (I would also be for the legalisation of ecstasy and possibly cocaine, as well as giving safer options for heroin addicts)

Firearms: Available to those that have a reason for having them (gamekeepers, farmers etc) I don't see it as a human/constitutional right to bare arms.

Gay Marriage: For, its not my right to tell two loving people how they can live their lives.

Gay Adoption: For, for much of the same reasons as my support for gay marriage. That and I know a gay couple who have adopted and they're fine as parents.

Religion in schools: In religious education yes, and then a balanced view of all religions.

Death penalty: Against. The places that have it seem to be barbaric, doesn't act as a deterrent, and there are plenty of cases where the accused would've been executed but was then found innocent (such as Stefan Kishko)

War in Afghanistan: Against for the same reasons as my opposition to Iraq.

Taxes: For, I guess? Can't have good public services/welfare without them.

Libyan Civil War & Arab Spring: For.

Communism: Horrible idea built on a Utopian idea, which are all doomed to fail from the start.

UN: Good idea in theory, but its not doing too well...

NATO: Obviously instrumental in stopping the totalitarian socialist regimes during the Cold War, but looked rather stupid right up until Libya...

EU: Same as the UN. Also against the portions of it that attack sovereignty.

Israeli/Palestinian conflict: Supporter of Palestine, skeptical of Hamas, against illegal Israeli settlers.

Israel: Against its existence, as I believe it was one of the causes of modern day Islamic fundamentalism, but now? It should stop illegally invading and settling on Palestinian soil.

Kashmir: Ignorant of the issue, so I have no opinion.

Pakistan: Rather too 'Sharia-y' for my taste.

Russia: Decaying racist nation that needs to stop bullying its neighbors.

USA: Annoyingly happy and nice people, though the in-your-face patriotism/nationalism gets on my nerves.

Creationism in Schools: Totally against in both societies that have a clear separation of church and state, and those that don't.

Where do you put yourself on the political spectrum:
    Left
Do you indentify yourself with a certain political grouping (socialist, neocon, etc): Monarchism, British Conservatism.
Do you indentify yourself with a certain political party: Conservative Party
    Religion: Secular Humanist

Abortion:Should only happen for Incestuous Rape, Rape, if there will be harm to the mother or child.
    War in Iraq: Against
Marijuana: Should be legalized, but taxed
Firearms: Should be less regulated, but still regulated a lot.
    Gay Marriage: For gay marriage
    Gay adoption: For
Religion in schools: If it teaches about all Religions, and doesn't take up one Religion over another.
Death penalty: For in certain cases.
    War in Afghanistan: For.
Taxes: I quote Ben Franklin "Only two things are certain; Death and Taxes"
Libyan Civil War & Arab Spring: For.
Communism:In a theoretical state, yes. But in all honesty, it just can't work.
UN: Against. I just don't think its doing what it should. It only really helps what the US, and pretty much most of the world, can profit off of.
NATO: On the fence. Its too US dominated, but it does a job.
EU: On the fence. I get where its coming from, but its not doing its job. It needs to improve, or just fall apart.
Israeli Palestinian conflict: I support the Palestinian cause for Independence from the oppressive Israelis.
Israel: Terrible state, in my opinion, a terrorist state. Its a butt chum of the US and perversive to Palestine.
    Kashmir: Its Indian. Not Pakistani.
Pakistan: Opposed to it. Simply a failed state. They support Terrorists, they had Osama Bin Laden a sort stroll from Pakistan's largest Military Academy.
American Foreign Policy: Stop 'protecting' (Its not protecting, its only occupying for their own gain) foreign lands and go solve your problems at home. Its the pot calling the Kettle black.
Russia: Should get back on their feet as "The World's most feared state." The Russian Bear must strengthen, or face being outdated. They need to stop corruption in the Corporations (Where have we seen that elsewhere) and get more diplomatic ties with Europe and Asia.
USA: I'm mainly opposed to it. Considering the amount of ignorance "WE ARE BETTER THAN EVERYONE ELSE" I get from a lot of Americans. They need to wake up, rub their eyes, and see that their blind Patriotism and ignorance is making the world hate them. But, I don't mind many Americans.
Creationism in School: Against, so much against. Its a waste of time, its a fable in my opinion.

Country of Residence: United States of America
    Nationality: American...
    Political Compass Result: leftist-libertarian
Where do you put yourself on the political spectrum: I always thought of myself as a moderate democrat. Not too far off I guess.
Do you indentify yourself with a certain political grouping (socialist, neocon, etc): Nope
Do you indentify yourself with a certain political party: Independent
Religion: My savior Jesus, Christian. The Church I go to is apart of the Christian Missionary Alliance if that makes any difference.
    Abortion: illegal
War in Iraq: should have been out of there along time ago. Saddam had to go.
Marijuana: Legal, but with restrictions and promise to research healthier ways.
    Firearms: legal, but with restrictions
Gay Marriage: Fully Illegal. The state should not even recognize or mention it.
Gay adoption: Fully Illegal as well.
Religion in schools: The school itself should not be responsible for the spiritual well being of children. However, there should be absolutely no restrictions on what kids want to express, religion wise.
Death penalty: Against. Through them in prison for the rest of their lives. It's not up to us.
War in Afghanistan: I can see the reasons, but it's too broad.
War on Terror: Should be a police force, not all out war. What are we trying to do here, revive the crusades? Defensive is better then offensive
Economic model: Capitalism is nice. As long as there is some government restrictions obviously. Can't have corporations getting too out of hand.
Healthcare: It varies from country to country. It seems the bigger the country the better off healthcare is free.
Communism: Absolutely not. Don't kid yourself, communism will never work.
    Fascism/Nazism: Are you serious?
UN: Completely against. We need to revert back to old stronger alliances instead of a general "we're all friends here!" Each country has it's own responsibilities and problems.
    NATO: Against, it's useless
EU: Against. It's just alienating most of the countries.
Libyan Civil War & Arab Spring: At least they're doing something...
Israeli Palestinian conflict: Israel is a country, not Palestine.
Israel: Israel is a country and will stay that way.
China: Probably will continue to grow to become a major world power, but its pathetic communist regime will fall over on itself, like all communist regimes. I just hope the extremely kind and friendly Chinese citizens won't have to pay to harshly for China's rapid growth and doubly rapid decline.
Russia: When I think of Russia, I think of failure, pure utter failure. Not the people, mostly the government. A shining example of why communism doesn't work. Yet they still desperately cling to it.
USA: There are so many problems with the USA. We seem to believe that we can control every country and when that doesn't work we get mad like a child. But hey, I can not complain about life in the US. Freedom is nice and our government does take care of us. But we are a little to imperialistic. There are many domestic problems we should be working on.
American Foreign Policy: A terrible mess. Probably won't get better any time soon.
Euthanasia: Against. Its not up to you.
    Immigration: For, with obvious restrictions
Taxes: Matthew 22:15-22 Short quote "So give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s." - Jesus
Global Warming: The Earth is changing, that much is clear. But I don't fully believe it is totally our fault and I don't believe we can fully reverse it either.
The Military: No one should ever be forced to serve. I love the US, but I'm not that loyal to it.
"Do you know, my son, with what little understanding the world is ruled?"

Abortion: Womans choice, but father should get a say, and if its a few weeks before due date, suck it up and go for adoption
Marijuana: lol, if your going to legalize it you better tax the crap out of it and keep it out of the work force and public areas

Taxes: Tax the rich more, flat taxes would only hurt the lower classes more. Give tax breaks for creating jobs HERE IN AMERICA!

Do you indentify yourself with a certain political party: NDP [very loosely]
    Religion: Catholic

Abortion:Should only happen for Rape, and if there will be harm to the mother or child.
    War in Iraq: Against
Marijuana: Should be legalized, but taxed
Gay Marriage: Why not. As long as they don't run around bragging about it and showing off.
Gay adoption: Not sure, leaning towards No.
Religion in schools: If it teaches about all Religions, and doesn't take up one Religion over another.
Death penalty: For in certain cases.
War in Afghanistan: Against; all it did is increase poppy/opiate production and give legitimate backing to extremists.

Taxes: As long as they proportional, yes.
Libyan Civil War & Arab Spring: yes, to a certain degree
Communism:In a theoretical state, maybe. But in all honesty, it just can't work.
UN: While it isn't perfect, they do their job decently.
    EU: For

Israeli Palestinian conflict: I support the Palestinian cause. Claiming baseless stories to get more US support is pathetic.
Israel: while they have some redeeming features [technology-wise], shouting selective democracy while stealing land is pathetic and unjustified.

American Foreign Policy: Stop meddling foreign lands in a biased fashion and go solve your problems at home.

Russia: Corrupted, and is failing heavily.
USA:They preach somewhat good things, but all they do is serve their interest and the more dominate lobbies' interest.

Creationism in School: as long as evolution is taught as well, why not.

While I can certainly see some benefits threads like this have, there are still problems in terms of dialectal purity and integrity. Once everyone else has the ability to know what exactly are your political and philosophical stances regarding certain issues, where do you fit in within the political matrix and just how far you are from the other viewer, this opens up a place for bias in debates, useless and irrelevant ad hominam arguments and general pretentiousness and immaturity. It is preferable that people would argue without bias. Nevertheless, I guess those who are more prone to such behavior, will repeat this over-assumptive bias, regardless of the more detailed information they have about the person they arguing with.

Do you indentify yourself with a certain political grouping (socialist, neocon, etc): Paleo-Conservative, I think.
Do you indentify yourself with a certain political party: No party I know of is worthy of my affiliation and vote.
    Religion: Agnostic.

Abortion: Should be legal only in cases of rape. People should learn to take responsibility over their own decisions or suffer the consequences.
    War in Iraq: Undecided.
Marijuana: Should be legalised for medicinal purposes only.
Firearms: Should be legal for most people, but prohibited for people with psychiatric diseases or criminal records (criminality is not caused merely by allowing access to firearms, it has deeper roots, and firearms are not the only means, let alone the fact those involved in criminal activity find ways to bypass the law).
    Gay Marriage: Pro gay marriage.
Gay adoption: No, children should be raised by a male (mentally and anatomically) and a female (mentally and anatomically). And yes, there are clear and important biological differences between the sexes, which in modernity blurred by ideologists and social reformers.
Religion in schools: Students should be exposed to religious thinking and have a general idea of religions principles (of various religions), but the material should be scrutinized and delivered with an anthropological approach.
Death penalty: Yes, in severe cases. Financing the lives of predators is simply futile.
