    Default Unit Kill Count System

    So I had an idea I don't know if anyone thought about it yet but I thought it would be cool, easy, and make factions have even more of a story as far as individual units go. Since at the end of every battle you can look at each individual units kills and deaths I was wondering if in Rome 2 there could be a system where the game remembers each individuals units kills and keeps a record of them. When you look at the units info it will tell you how many battles the unit has fought and how many men they have killed. Once a unit gets the 1,000 kills I thought you could possibly upgrade them with more advanced armor, weapons, or even upgrade them into a whole new unit that is even stronger (I was thinking more on the lines of the Assassins Creed system where you upgrade your assassins as they complete missions) The benchmarks would be 1,000, 5,000, then at 10,000 (if any unit ever reached such a huge feat which would be very hard and very late game) you would get an elite 10 star general and each soldier in the unit would be made a generals bodyguard so it'd be a very powerful general bodyguards unit. Maybe at the 1,000 and 5,000 marks you could even customize their armor to look however you like and make them more identifiable on the field (for example in the movie troy you could tell achilles soldiers apart because they wore black armor) I know this is a completely new idea but I think it would be easy to implement and would give another awesome feature for veteran players to focus on when taking over the world gets boring you can focus on making a god like unit. Thoughts?

    A system like you suggest would have some problems. It is nice to see how many enemies a units had killed, but we speaking of a game that handles almost 300 years. If you have a units from the start to the and than he could killed a million enemies but no one would get how many looses they had and as soldiers are never to old to fight in TW there is also no change of man.

    I would like a system like biographies in Paradox Games, where we have the live of our generals when he was born, his career as a magistrate, but also important battles he won. Something like that i would prefer, like when a unit take the capital of another faction, that the unit get a mark like "conquered Corinth".

    Proud to be a real Prussian.

    i think they are already trying to do this with the legions since they said they want a player to feel more attached to their soldiers thats why there wont be no units alone but a legion and i think they are thinking of adding tech trees and stuff to make each legion individual and customasable so i think its in... great idea by the way i hope we do get more customisable options with armor and weapon upgrades and stuff

    Sorry but this is getting ridiculous.

    Not that i'm mad at the you lacrossepl9 - your intention is to improve something
    but;

    on one hand people are complaining that CA should lower the graphical requirements
    so that finally 100.000's of men can be met on a battlefield and on the other hand
    people do request that there should be a waste of performance on the stats of single soldiers or so.

    Please don't get me wrong - this is just a general wake up call which has nothing to do with
    your attempt to bring in some positive ideas.

    I believe the op said 'units' not individual soldiers stats. It would essentially be the same thing as the experience buffer in my understanding, just with more options and depth.

    yeah thanks for pointing it out - you're right off course +rep

    Well then all i have to say is;

    I wouldn't have a problem with this being in the game - statistics are always good - the more
    the better.

    Just don't make them something that you have to click in case you're not interested.

    But i think S2TW already saved us from a lot of popups when entering a new turn.

    @lacrossepl9 - sorry my fault - misread something there

    No problem man, I know I misread some things to late at night. Would be interesting to see this feature play out. One thing I always thought wou
    D be neat is if while you could also recruit principes, once hastati got to a certain experience grade you could pay to upgrade them.

    That's what I loved about the Civ games. If you had some spearmen, then upgraded to a new era, you could upgrade them to pikemen. If they still lived onto a new era, you could upgrade them to riflemen, and eventually modern infantry.

    So upgrading Hastati to Principes would be a nice feature, provided certain requirements are met.

    It would make sense. Kinda ties into the whole thing with the Marius reforms, where hastati stacks arent retrainable.. Wish I could just reetrain them even if they downgrade into auxilia.
