Default trade agreements are costing me money?

    hello,

    today i experienced something strange...

i arranged a trade agreement with another clan... the infobox said that this trade would provide me with +xxx gold per turn.

but when i finally agreed, i took a look at my income rate and it has dropped from 7xxx to 6xxx!

since when can u loose money from trade agreements? is this normal?

i'm playing on hard and had several other trade agreements... oh and by the way the foretold for money gained from trade agreements is never right... well, atleast till now it was always in my favour^^

Are you sure you didn't just finish completing some units? Or that your new trade route was blocked by an enemy of your partner's ?

yeah, i'm pretty sure, since i checked the income tab right after i made the trade agreement... if it where unit-costs or other things (mission bonuses etc), the income change would appear after the turn had finished and not while the turn was still on...

as i said i immedietly checked the income tab right after the trade agreement was settled (in the same turn)

Is the other clan providing you with more resources than you are to him? I think trade deficits are a factor in income, would explain why sometimes clans can be so picky with trade agreements (seriously, it's like "Hey, want a trade agreement?" "HOW COULD YOU POSSIBRU EXPECT ME TO AGREE YOU DISHONORABLE DOG!").

I never had that before, I always make profit out of it even if I trade with a clan that exports more to me than I do to them. And about clans not willing to trade with you, that could very possible be because they're allies or trading partners of a hostile clan to you. And if you get really big they probarly do the whole 'no trade' thing because they don't want to support your too powerfull clan anymore to protect themself.

Trade tends to be a positive impact on your balance sheet, and you should be able to see that on the individual account entries for your trading partners.

I've noticed it a few weeks ago as well and ended up with the same assumption as Kennedy, they may refuse trading not to lose money. It is possibly a cause of having a certain amount of resources to sell and if you already trading them all then the new business may end up making you lose money. This can be checked in trade window at the bottom where it states sg like money from unused trade. If it is 0 making a new trade agreement might be pointless. Probably ai knows this and refuse trade in such occasions.

That is normal in my game. Sometime factions can be so rude and asking a lot money about trade, once faction wanted around 10k money by me in game
