Why is it that TW game intro's are some of the best graphics seen on a pc gaming but then when in game ,well the cinematics graphics always sucks, commodore 64 style..
This has to stop with rome 2![]()

Because that's what every game ever has done.
The Shogun2 trailer cinematic(the one where 2 guys duel infront of a castle) looks pretty good, not as good as say Blizzard but decent. But the "intoduction" movies look just awful, the graphics are arguably WORSE than ingame. You can see this in the clan select screen aswell, the clanleaders are very low resolution, and look way better ingame. Strange.
The cinematic when you start the game is CGI and the ones in the game are made with the game engine (the CGI is most likely made by another company). That is why the ingame videos look worse than the CGI cinematic![]()

QVOD IN OMNI VITA FACIMVS IN AETERNVM RESONAT
Its actually far worse than in game graphics
Well it`s because of several things:
1. They want to `wow` you when you start.
2. Top-of-the-range CGI is used.
3. The scene is scripted. No need to make bits that no one will ever see. CPU power is never used at all.
4. It may look like a lot of troops are on the screnn at once in front of a huge castle, but there isn`t really.
Ingame graphics has to depict thousands of men in full 3D on a 3D landscape with a 3D castle, using YOUR pcs graphics, sound and cpus till they scream- so something has to give, right?
It`s the graphics.
Personally, I would prefer CA use the ingame graphics for all scenes CGI (like intro and assassin scenes) so the Player gets what he sees. I also think it`s a waste of resources that could be used elsewhere since a person watches it twice then clicks through it evermore.
Well i think its a let down, especially now dx11 is in game.
It doesnt have to be CGI but it should be better than 800x600 graphics, it might be cool and traditional but these ingame scene's set up the totally feeling of the game and clan/faction you are playing for.
I think this 1990 graphics has to change with rome 2.
CGIs can be even more bad ass with dx11 =D
