Favorite Faction?

I don't think there's a topic for your Favorite Faction of Hyrule Total War yet, so here it is

Anyways, personally my favorite faction is the Zora. Although their armor isn't as good as the Hylians, their massive morale more than makes up for it, at least in my opinion.

For me, it's a tie between Hyrule and the Gerudo for first, with Ordona coming up in second.

Ordona! They're so plucky, barely any of them have military experience, but it turns out having nearly every person in a nation owning and being able to ride a horse makes for quite an effective militia! Their Riders are currently a little pathetic, but their archers, mounted and on foot, are pretty effective, and their Goat Lords are nigh unstoppable in a full charge! They also get quite a lot of income, due to owning a massive amount of fertile land.

The Ordona are a great faction, mainly because I love to use cavalry in general

Moblins. Defs.

It's just a fun faction! Miniblins solve most of your problems, but if you want to have some fun you get some of the bigger blins and then just smash your way through any opposition.

I love fighting Stalfos, purely because even a small skirmish is really intense! Taking 'to the death' to its logical conclusion!

Yeah, but that's the fun! Trying to regroup a semi-competant fighting force before more Staly arrive... It's just a shame that for me, like Ikana, they never last long enough...

for me the Stalfos either die within a few turns, or take over half the Gerudo or take Hylia marine and Lon Lon. Hylia Marine seems like a Stalfos magnet for some reason.

Ikana however, ALWAYS dies, no exceptions, ever.


While Hyrule, the Gerudo and Ordona are my favorites, i'm also really fond of the Zora, Lanaryu, the Darkuts, and the Fairies.

I think the Deku Tribes would be my favorite, if they weren't so utterly useless at the moment. So besides them, Lizalfos would have to be my favorite. Something about having dinosaurs as your basic infantry unit just gets me going.

Definitely the Gerudo. Lore wise, they are the faction with the worst possible odds agaisnt them. Living in a barren desert, few resources, and a monogender curse that will most likely get them extinct. But damn, can they still kick ass. I just love survivors. And arabic culture. And most of all good arcehrs.
And while Ordona is spposed to have the best cavalry, for me nothing beats Gerudo cavalry. There was this one battle in the campaign where I had a cavalry only Gerudo army, half mounted arcehrs and half mounted marauders. Facing against a Stalfos army more than twice their size.
Won the battle while managing to keep two thirds of mine alive.

Second place would probably be the twili, love their design and sol weapons, and third the fairies or Korkiri.

I haven't fought Gerudo, but I'm dreading it. Skirmishing armies are my weakness, even with Ordona, and I'll probably have flashbacks to England v Mongols in vanilla M2TW, and they ripped me a new one in every battle that wasn't a seige. Constantly staying out of range, raining arrows on my poor soldiers... I can't see it being fun for me.

And as for the Twili; me and my brother recreated TP: Hyrule v Twili, and while I (Hyrule) soundly beat almost all of the Twili, the sorceresses tore chunks out of my beloved Hylian Knights. It was only down to a brave final charge with my cavalry that I won at all...

Can relate to that. Once had a battle with Gerudo against fiaries. And since they were even bigger skirmishers than Gerudo, I choose to try and zerg rush them with my many infantry units.
It didn't work. My beloved archers were comparably ineffectual agaisnt those massive numbers of small target of the fairy swarms. Same units took so frustratingly long to kill that the bigger fairies and golems could merrily burn all my units. And even though I managed to get what little cavalry i had beind their lines, those annoying teleporters caught them.
Fairies are pure evil, I tell you!

But the most I dread ghoma. Til now I have fought them only once, but what an experience that way. In my Korkiri campaign. Early on I invade Hyrule and am doing pretty, well, superior numbers, emerald archers, tough deku trees and flanking wolfos work wonders. With a "as many units as possibel" army I march to Hyruel Prime....
....and find out that the Ghoma are already there. Oh well, I think, they have three units less than me, I should be fine.
It was horrible. Their horsecharge spiders broke thgouh my lines immideately, taking most of my arcehrs out within a minute. The canon spiders burned my deku trees in the same amount of time. wolfos did flank them, but due to the masses of enemies retreated seconds later.
To make it short, in less than five minutes more than half my army was on the run. Shortly after, for some time one thirds of the Korkiri were NOT fleeing while the other two thirds did. And whenever a unit stopped fleeing, another started.

I reloded and fought that battle like five times, tried all sorts of different and desperate tactics. In the end I had to be happy with an outcome that hade a living Saria being part of like two or three surviving and highly decimated units that could escape.
Forget what I said about faries, Spiders are evil! All except spiderman!

Order of the Wizzrobe are my favorite. especially Geomancers. i love watching a storm of Bolders rain down on the enemy.

Me and my brother played a game a few days ago, his geomancers murdered my Labrynna formations before I could even get in range! Then I got paypack - I played Ordona and had an elder goat formation walk through his lines, disrupting his wizzards [Terry Pratchett!] before they could tear the crap out of my forces. My melee people engaged his, and watching my mounted farmer archers shoot the last desperate geomancers like a firing squad is a joyous sight that will remain with me till alcohol or the internet burns away my brain cells

out of all the factions i would rather not fight the Gerudo would be to the top of the list. if you play them like this you'll beat any army. All mounted archers. Shoot till out of arrows then withdraw. then attack again. repeat until don. you can wipe out 3 or more full caped army's that way.

Really? I LOVE fighting the Gohma. Other than the Pure Evil that is Armogohmas it's easy as hell to smash their Zergling armies. The Gerudo especially can murder them like nobodies business. Just stand back and fill them full of arrows, with some wind witches to blast whole units at once. Mounted Dune Archers especially murder them. Cavalry charges, and arrows crush the Gohma.

Just stand back and fill them full of arrows, with some wind witches to blast whole units at once. Mounted Dune Archers especially murder them. Cavalry charges, and arrows crush the Gohma.

In that case its perhaps ust that the Korkiri are so bad agaisnt them, with their bad morale, and weak close combat units the cavalry charge spiders can easily break through. That and the fact that deku trees are horrible against fire.

Or I just suck at playing korkiri or just had the wrong units for the wrong job. As I said, until now I only ever played Korkiri against Ghoma, before i could do that with the Gerudo, the game started crashing.
